@kimhong0614, 28 Mar 2013I have to wait at least 2 to 3 seconds only then the camera can be turned on. Is that normal? that's normal if you open the camera for the first time. once the camera has been started, it will be kept open in the background (typical android setup) so there shouldn't be problems with opening it the next time around.
if you can't deal with the delay, install another camera app. you may even get better camera results with third party apps since sony's noise reduction is too aggressive.
AnonD-79726, 28 Mar 2013I wonder if this phone gonna suffer the same fate as the Xperia S.fate as the Xperia S?
I wonder if this phone gonna suffer the same fate as the Xperia S.
coolkid, u know what ? This phone is sucks ! Fake battery stamina, bad viewing angles, crap UI, annoying heating problems, boring box-shaped design, copying the old crAPPLE iphone glass body.
If u said samsung air-gesture copied the xperia sola, so all the sony phones are copying old motorola phone, the first wireless handphone. Go away if u didn't want to be duplicated ! Nowadays, good technology must be shared upon different smartphone brands. Hence, it is called innovation..
[deleted post]Who cares... Even after your comment samsung will still remain plastic...
I'm using xperia z since 2 weeks ago.
Display: Not perfect but still great, especially when mobile bravia engine 2 is active (for video playback, picture, image browsing, and playing games) .. Amazing
Viewing angle? Not impressive but I prefer sunlight legibility to viewing angle, which is great and more useful in daily use. For below par contrast ratio performance (for highend), still acceptable for me, but I hope software upgrade can handle this issue.
Processing Power and UI: Not the fastest phone, but still enough to impress me.. Blazing fast UI, no lags or freeze at all.. Superior performance
Sudden death? Well, my unit is perfect, never happened here. My complaint is device temperature, especially when performing some heavy tasks.
Camera and video: Great Superior Auto Mode, very useful for daily use, very fast capture, great picture quality. No match for Nokia 808 for sure, but still manage to replace low-mid end digicam for daily use.
1080p video recording is decent for current highend smartphone.
Battery performance: 48 hours rating by GSMA, but Stamina Mode does make difference here, very helpful for analysing and preventing many apps and setting that drain battery. Very customize-able setting too. I'm really impressed with Stamina Mode.
Multimedia: Walkman and video player are great with perfect audio quality. Mono speaker is let down here, I prefer HTC One stereo speaker.
Design and build quality: For me, great design is a must for highend smartphone, no chance for ugly design and cheap material here. My purple XZ manage to attract many people eyes and impressed them. Just wow... Prada-like phone. Beautiful yet strong
Dust and water resistance are very nice bonus, very rare feature for highend smartphone.
So far, I'm satisfied with my unit, which is my first Sony phone. But, I hope this year, Sony should upgrade this and launch Xperia Z+ (or such) with Snapdragon 600 (or better) processor, better display (JDI panel), and bigger battery.

I have been using this phone for about 3 weeks and have developed a lot mixed feelings about it. This 1st look is great, but it doesn't really meet the expectations. The TFT doesn't offer you the same level of experience as does the Amoled/Super Amoled technology. 1st of all its impossible to get rid of the smudges and dust from the TFT as it seems to be charged up and attracting these particles. Then the brightness, sharpness and colour definition leaves you with a lot to be desired. The screen just doesn't lighten up the way Super Amoled does. Another odd thing that Sony has done with their interface is when you go to the applications panes from the home screen, the icons appear on a dulled down bordered area and suck all the fun out of visual experience. Sony used to be a leader in screen technology and giving the best visual experience not only on the phones, but also on TVs and computer screens as well and they have lost that edge. The place of the speaker on the phone is creating a lot of problems as well, as it is very easy to put your fingers on the speaker and suddenly lose all the volume. These are things that I think are specific with this particular handset and Sony could have done better.
Apart from that there still seem to be a lot of issues with OS. Android has exploded prolifically, but this only the 2nd best operating system out there. Apple's IOS is far ahead of it in it's ease of use and fluiditiy. One thing that is most annoying for me is the inadequacies of Android's email management system. It just doesn't work with at least hotmail. I just cannot see my mail folder on this email system apart from the generic inbox. So all the emails going to my self defined folders are just totally inaccessible from the phone until I go to the browser and login through the browser and even there the interface is not of such great quality. To be fair even if I go to the browser and try to access the emails on the iphone through the browser the experience is not that great either, but with iphone the email management system so smooth and trouble free that you don't have to.

hi guys. I am a fine of sony.i just got that mobile.its most best smartphone i see in my hole life.its much better fr0m s3 or any other phones
Yes the glass back is scratch resistant, but its not covered by anti-shatter film, so don't hit it with the hammer :)
Real life environment you cannot damage this phone with just falling it to the floor, the XZ skeleton frame is totally bad ass. So you can drop it all day long without care about it, try to do this with an S3 or S4 :)) NOT

AnonD-107005, 28 Mar 2013hi daers, i'ma buy this epic tomorrow, just a question, is the back scratch proof/resistant? a... moreIt is scratch resistant. If you take a closer look, you'll remark that it has a film (that makes it shutter proof, I assume). As for the glass beneath, it is scratch proof and resists against hits. Not as tough as gorilla glass though, but I don't care, I'm careful with my phones. I don't use any cover really and it seems just fine... I hate comparisons, but you'll see that the difference in built quality and elegance between this phone and most of the other phones is really obvious. This looks high end, not at all plastic-like. it is beautiful and pretty solid, which works for me.
