a new generation of smartphone that shows a glimpse of the future. Sony mastered it to perfection...there cannot be a single fault that you can point out in this phone! It has the best of Sony packed up in a 5-inch smartphone.....Bravia Engine 2, Full HD Resolution(1080x1980), a 13MP cam(WOW!), waterproof and dustproof...and moreover this is powered by the same legendary Sony's Walkman class music player...that takes the music to the level beyond the limits! Just imagine what would be the picture quality while capturing when we got a 13MP sensor that too on a full HD display...has to be better than that of a medium-level DSLR!! The smartphone just wipes out all the other rivals...RIP other brands for now! A whopping 441 pixel per inches that means there is absolutely no way by which you can point out a grain in the screen with the naked eye...Trust me guys...at this time nothing stands in its way....now its getting quite interesting to see how Samsung's Galaxy S4 turns out to be! After the launch of this masterpiece the Xperia Z...most of the other remaining flagship devices of other companies prove to be a disgrace to the flagship segment of the smartphones! Incredible work by Sony in perfecting their new flagship device that packs up everything in its den yet sticking with all the basics that are true to its core! I doubt if there is any opponent for this phone at this time....After seeing the price tag...I'm very much surprised that the phone is still under the range of 40k Indian Rupees which I was not at all expecting....Considering the features it packs up...there was absolutely no chance it could have come under 40k....Very well done Sony...keep up the good work....this is a vast improvement after the exorbitantly poor pricing of Xperia Ion....Sony is back with a Bang!! If you want a smartphone today that has to be the best one out there...this is the one to go for!!!! Nothing stands in its way! Thumbs up to Sony for the beginning of a new era!! :-D

Anonymous, 16 Mar 2013Battery rating, Very Good.

these ten days that i have this phone, its battery never lasted less than 30 hours.
yesterday i charged it at 11 a.m and i went to my grandma's home. my little cousin was there and played with it about 2 hours. then i shared lots of data via bluetooth, played music, watched movies and images. when i went to sleep at night there was about 40 percent left. and today it was 9 p.m that it completely discharged while again i played with it, used Wifi, synced data and all these 34 hours the brightness was at 50%. the battery is just more than perfect. it won't let you down.
all xperia z please answer me....today I myself tested xperia z in chandigarh but its display only shines and looks great when brightness is set to 100% when changed it to 75% display doesn't looks good....is it true that XPERIA z will be set to 100% full day to amaze myself and what will be its battery backup if I use it on 100% as I am looking forward to buy it
szymon247, 16 Mar 2013I won't lie, if Sony only improved the display (significantly) this phone would be very compet... moreLook at the S4 vs Z display shootout, and thank God that we dont have to suffer with the clipping and horrible low detail levels of the OLED. S4 may be a good phone in many ways but teh display is its weakest part. And you like Sony to use that??
szymon247, 16 Mar 2013I won't lie, if Sony only improved the display (significantly) this phone would be very compet... moreAhah. Why dont you try the phone, the display is amazing, just as a lot of reviewers have said.
Even GA admitted that its better than others in sunlight, personally i was deeply impressed with its sunlight legitibility, its so way better than other phones i have tried. What GA is really admitting here is that measurements of brightness and contrast does not reflect the real world percepcion of a displays qualities.
Viewing angles are really not a problem at all, you would know if you tried it in real life usage. And as for several persons watching at the same time, yes te ones at the sides will get a lower contrast and colorshift, but its no problem to see it clearly.
Battery rating, Very Good.
Was at a party last night, till the morning, thats where we tested the Z in ice water by the way. My poor Z didnt get any rest at the party, two of the girls where litterally fighting about using my phone and kept using it all night, still i got home in the morning with 33% battery to spare.
3G data connection was enabled, stamina mode OFF, screen brightness set to 50% and Auto Brightness on.
Im upgrading my opinion about the battery from Good to Very Good. It has improved since i first got it, but it was not bad when it was brand new also.
It is also worth mentioning that usage like this in very dark surroundings will cause the phone to lower the brightness, thereby saving power. Then its a good thing that this display does not lose quality/detail at low brightness levels, unlike the AMOLED displays that barely has any detail whatsoever at low settings.
I won't lie, if Sony only improved the display (significantly) this phone would be very competitive against the Galaxy S4. It's still the last thing holding them off since the Xperia Arc that I had, and the poor display was my main complaint, and they still use the same display type in their phones. Bravia engine is nice and all, but it's basically trying to do miracles with a TN LCD. If only they went for a better panel, or an OLED display even the first gen Krait processor wouldn't hold them back from taking the 2nd spot on the Android market with this phone.
