LOL - the international version uses the washed out TFT screen, while the Japanese version uses IPS!!!
And you just got served with something that is lesser than what you paid for! Knowing that, are you seriously getting this for the feel-good of what has a second-rated HD screen than another version that has a clearer, better angled, much vibrant screen?! Hahaha, seriously?

I just got this phone in the UK, and I would like to say that it has an exceptionally impressive display. In addition to it its touch is pretty awesome with compared to other android phones and its camera is just brilliant though when you zoom in it gets blurred-that's because the camera of the Xperia Z automatically deletes the bad pixels and contains only the good piles in the photo to give you an overall good experience/view of the photo. Its battery life is amazing though the only problem i came over was the battery life reduces pretty fast down when you use it, but if its in stamina mode you hardly recognize the battery reducing. The other design default I came across the location of the speaker(right hand bottom of the phone, where it gets covered when you hold the phone-so please be cautious when you hold the phone while playing a song). Apart from those two the phone is just awesome. I think its a hard hit at Apple by Sony! I would recommend this phone to anybody. simply amazing.

But we have to change according to the changing technology otherwise we have to bankrupt like Motorola or Nokia. The only remody to improve battery life is manufacturing a phone with higher battery capacity like LG.
This phone is a tad too late in the market!...Quadcore phones are all around much before then this model from SONY....They have lost it again...!!!!
I have a Samsung note 2 , LG Optimus,iPhone , Sony xperiza Z and padfone
Overall Sony is best
Samsung note have good UI which allow ppl to cut from clipart multitasking but limited app
LG Optimus powerful budget buy
IPhone nice and simple to use
I did not know how Sony do it in there hardware or software maybe with low resolution UI which give their battery last longer as for the HD it only when playing a video then it show I con current using it have the same size as my padfone but it last Much longer but of cause note 2 still slighty longer abit then Sony but the Sony graphic and video is truly amazing
The power button build quality is not so good. Its kinda shakeup. Any experiencing thesame
So, stop defending the battery is ok. It's on if you hardly use it. Advice is you get a second phone that is for regular use, then take out the Xperia Z when you need someone to impress. Do the math and science for the HD screen and small battery.
Here's a review:
"Minimal usage (excellent): With no 3G network, no WiFi and no GPS and a few moment with the display on, the Xperia Z can last for days without recharging. After 36 hours, the phone only used 50% of battery.
Regular usage (regular – could be better): With regular usage, the display set at full brightness, wifi on, GPS on checking emails, taking a picture or two, checking the internet and so on, the battery depleted by 20% in one hour. This use case assumes you may be outdoors and therefore need the higher brightness to compensate for the sunlight. The display remains the single largest source of power depletion in most tasks, except when gaming where the main processor may draw even more power.
Intensive usage (regular – could be better): I played a HD video over WiFi with the display in full brightness for half an hour and the battery dropped from 43% to 24 % – which is 21% per 30 minutes with intensive use.
Knowing that battery depletion is linear (for a given task) we can calculate that the battery will last roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes while watching videos non-stop over WiFi. We would have expected slightly better performance with the intense use, however, we know that a slim body cannot accommodate a high capacity battery (3000mAh+)."
