Oh, the info on the battery usage was from XDA Developers:
Anonymous, 22 Feb 2013the battery of this phone is just about 5hrs...
The most beautiful Sony phone yet
Wa... moreReports of the owners vary depending on how they use it. The big question is the total accumulated screen-on time usage. Some pro reviewers like engadget are pegging the continuous fiddling usage to be somewhere 5 to 6 hours.
One actual owner reported having 3.5 hours of screen-on spanning some 11 hours with 20% left.
Another with consuming 36% in only 2 hours connected to wifi- which translates only 5.5 hours of screen-on with that rate.
The battery conservation may be very well be excellent when the screen is totally off, cuts the radios and reduces frequencies of updates. But the actual uasage time of users and some pro reviews- internet surfing seems to be around 6 hours only.

Water resistance on a flagship device
Disappointing battery life
Poor viewing angles
The Xperia Z proves that Sony has what it takes to make a compelling phone in an increasingly competitive market, but issues like battery life need to be confronted, even at the expense of the design.
MoMo, 22 Feb 2013I tested a retail model of this phone in the Sony store. I tried it out for about 10 minutes.... morelol Your review is biased ..there is no single plus point ur review .. from top to bottom ur disappointed ,shocked or surprised ...
PS - Your are a fake and your review is bull****
xperia z is the one of best looking device in smartphone history, its not only having decent looks but can also survive some hardcore & worst whether conditions.
its equips with latest hardware, software, innovati camera & full HD display, don't make battery backup as an issue, all smartphones eats battery power when using because of HD display and largely due to CPU,this happen because they don't have fan like computer or laptop for cooling, lastly heat causes less efficient processing.
XPERIA Z IS NOT DESIGNED FOR HUMANS,BUT IT IS DESIGNED FOR INTELLIGENT HUMANS......
AnonD-100110, 22 Feb 2013This phone is the best phone ever created so far..
Can't tell whether the S4 will compete ... more
Ofcourse, Water Resistance is One great feature of this phone,# everybody should appreciates Sony.
...but " removable battery" facility would be more valuable for customers in practical life.
¥ here Galaxy S series are most welcome.
Anonymous, 22 Feb 2013And one more review saying the Xperia Z has great display with rich and vibrant colors at PC A... moreSONYFANBOY - now u r critising GA for sony z review points ! r u better expert than GA ?and how and why? its customers choices . least u must do is to be FACTUAL about sony-z or any other handset BASED UPON YOUR OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of using sony-z -if u have any experience AT ALL at this point in timne because sony-z launched only A FEW DAYS AGO ! if u love sony -z that much- we suggest for you to buy NOW for yourself and MAY BE as gifts for ur friends ..GA IS A VERY GOOD FORUM FOR GENUINE INFOS AND HONEST VIEWS AND CUSTOMERS QUERIES --
And one more review saying the Xperia Z has great display with rich and vibrant colors at PC Advisor. They also mention it has good battery.
"The screen is nothing short of stunning and easily the best we've ever seen on a smartphone.
Content looks incredibly sharp thanks to its whopping 441ppi pixel density, the highest we've ever seen on a phone, and colours look particularly rich and vibrant. It really is like holding a TV in your hand and watching a feature length film finally makes sense on a smartphone."
See that, "particularly rich and vibrant", how come GA is the only one saying the colors are not good?
About the battery, "We were pleased to find the Xperia Z not only lasted a day but went a good way through a second. As you can see from the screenshot we went 31 hours and still had 20 percent of the battery remaining."
Anonymous, 22 Feb 2013sony -z battery has been rated as 3/5= not ?good in an independent review published today 22 f... moreSony will always send a system update after the release with a new 4.1 OS
Than the battery will be better, just like other Sony phones do.
This phone is the best phone ever created so far..
Can't tell whether the S4 will compete with it but Samsung will probably STICK with their plastic phones. In addition, having Water Resistance feature is something that is Extremely Attractive!
I really can't wait for this device to be released here in the Middle East
Anonymous, 22 Feb 2013There still aren't any gsmarena battery tests on this device.sony -z battery has been rated as 3/5= not ?good in an independent review published today 22 feb 2013 --by a major uk network ..battery is not user changeable -means no spare battery for travel.. and self appointed sony fanboys must NOT do wardances on their heads ..BE FACTUAL ..
Btw, about 64GB cards, it is once again confirmed to work. http://blog.clove.co.uk/2013/02/22/sony-xperia-z-supports-64gb-microsdxc-memory-cards/
Storage is not problem, and in addition the Z is confirmed to have a very good support for flashdrives over USB-OTG, a NOrwegian tech site didnt find any flashdrives that did not work, and it even worked with a USB floppydrive, reading the files and also playing MP3s from a floppy disk with the audio played through a USB DAC! However not all DACs tested worked as expected and only 2 out of 5 played with perfect sound. Anyway, great news for those who still have files on floppy disks, and even betterm the Xperia Z can power the floppy disk drive from its own battery though its mini USB port.
Anonymous, 22 Feb 2013Don't believe GSMarena always whst they claimed.
The are also wrong about thr screen of the Z... moreI have to agree with you, some other reviews are praising the display for punchy colors and GA say they lack punch.
Also, GA has the display at good brightness, but others said it is super bright. amobil dot no brought an Xperia Z to the HTC event for HTC One, and they said the display of the One is bright but not as bright as the Xperia Z.
There is NO DOUBT that GA has got the wrong readings of the Z's brightness, i think they somehow had the phone automatically reduce the brightness whn set to max, this is something Xperia phones always did in some cases, and thats also why Xperia phones are not tested at 50% brightness, because the Auto mode cannot be disabled.
The contrast values need to be redone, but as usual GA will not admit mistakes.
