The phone has a scratch resistant screen (Dragontrail Glass) which is covered with a shatter proof sheet. The shatter sheet proof sheet is prone to scratches but can be removed but it does add an additional layer of potection to the actual glass! Thank you.....
I went for a scratch protector and when I tried to remove some bubbles I have made a big scratch. I really hope it is only on the new protector not on the original. It can be felt by fingers. Did any of you encountered such a thing?
I will keep this new protection untill it collects a few more scratches.
I wish that the original film is unaffected by this scratch.

I first used the unit in order to drain the battery. I went home and charged the phone (though i used a nokia charger, because the sony charger had to have a converter for the socket. I dont know know if that caused it). I waited for about 10min before turning it on, and the rest was history.

This is best the phone out there.

Hi guys,i've read so much trolling here on Z1. I've tried for the past 2 years searching for the best phone for my hard earned money. I came to realize finally that Z1 is worth my buck. I'm gonna buy this as my birthday gift this November. I plan to keep it for at least 8 years. I like it because and i can swim with it, I can do voyeurism with it ehehe and tones more. Good luck on your choice guys.

wellboot, 28 Oct 2013If you read the full description for the z1, this is a powerful phone that is built to last. T... moreBuilt to last? I'm not sure about the internal construction quality. But I handled a recently displayed model at the Sony Store in the Houston Galleria; The screen surface was full of scratches. The phone was displayed in such a way that it could not be dropped or the screen moved across a surface other than a finger. This does not bode well for its overall luxurious life expectancy.
The protection shows: "Shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass." Well, it's not very "scratch-resistant." I was at the Sony Store in Houston today and handled this phone. The phone was unlocked; it was fast and the colors were amazing; but the screen surface is a total disaster! The screen was full of scratches. It's not a display issue, as phones in the nearby shops (HTC and Samsung) did not show such scratches. Does anyone have any idea why Sony would choose such a cheap screen surface as opposed to corning gorilla glass?
