I couldn't bring myself to buy this Z1 Compact phone. The frame flexes easily and I had a bad experience with my Z1 when the glass screen was pressed lightly or the frame was pressed on the sides the screen jumped and it no longer functioned. I opted instead for the HTC One SV. I love it. Incredible speed over cellular, same dimensions as the Z1 compact but lighter, more durable, and half the price. My other two HTC's a One and a One V have served me well but frankly, this phone outperforms all of them and even my iphone 5s.

But, that is not the only issue he had, he is reporting an unexpected restart which hasn't happened with my Z1C yet. And why not update the phone with latest firmware when one is available!

I would rather ask him how heavy use his phone is being subjected to, if its used 10 hours a day with brightness near maximum then its nothing wrong, but if he is a moderate to light user it should deffy last 2 to 3 days.

Can anybody update me on the Flash Bleed phenomenon seen in this phone .Is this seen in all color variants or does the Black variant is protected from Flash Bleed?
I wanted to buy the Lime color variant, but will have to buy the Black one,if this Flash Bleed is true
I was able to get my hands on this bad boy and I should say it wowed me! The screen in real life is a bang! It is so beautiful! I am so amazed how the colors pop out of that 4.3" screen! Even if it only has a 720p resolution, the screen size makes up for it and you won't really see its difference in PPI compared to the ones in Full HD but with bigger screens. I hope there will be a Z2 Compact that will atleast be at 4.6" Full HD and the rest is similar to that of the Z2! That will be the perfect phone for me! I have decided that I will get this as my next device. It has an IPS LCD screen, viewing angles are great! No fading colors issue unlike on the Z, ZL and Z1.
luv sony, 19 Mar 2014peopleeeeeeee any help here plzzzzzzzDo a system update
Manoj S, 18 Mar 2014Hey,
IPS and TFT are types of LCD screens.
IPS has a better viewing angle than TFT.
Z1 Co... moreOh my... You linked to an article you didnt even read ahah.
Next time read it yourself first,
"Types [of TFT displays]
3.1 Twisted nematic (TN)
3.2 In-Plane Switching (IPS)"
IPS is a panel type, TFT is an addressability matrix and not a panel type.

macparnami, 16 Mar 2014I want to buy this phone and urgently need some help guys my question are :
1.Can anyone com... moreI have this phone.
Camera is 20.7 MP, Nexus 5 is only 8 MP. Day time photo's are awesome, has some cool photo editing programs installed my most favorite is the one that allows you to take panorama pictures. Night time photo's are pretty good, flash is hit and miss some pictures will give you what I think you refereed to as "flash bleed" but turn the flash off and prepare to be amazed.
I would upgrade my galaxy s3. Please suggest if sony xperia z1 compact will be a good phone. Or Htc one is better?
Does the phone screen size matters because I have been using my s3 mostly for browsing and multimedia consumption
Please help. Thanks in advance.
I have this phone and would highly recommend it. Most of my friends have Samsung GS4's, have run a Quadrant benchmark on my Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and it beat the Samsung almost by double. The Features I love:
1) Water proof (30 mins 1 metre)
2) Battery life (2 days normal usage) even higher on stamina mode (this is a Sony inclusion)
3) Size 4.3 Inch screen size. When most manufacturer's make a small version of their flagship phone the performance is also smaller, this is not the case here with the Xperia Z1 Compact sharing similar specs to it's bigger brother.
4) Build quality, the phone just feel's solid, no cheap plastic covers just glass and metal, USB charging covers are well positioned and easy to open.
If I was to comment on some of the down sides it would be:
1) Non removable battery (could annoy some people I was ok with it)
2) Micro SIM (I had to borrow a SIM cutter and trim my standard SIM to size)
3) Bit of a finger print magnet (I solved this by purchasing a cover)
These are just minor issues, overall I would give this phone a 90/100. Best android phone I've owned since my Motorola Defy phone a few years ago.
