I don't have this phone yet but I also agree. If you are on the phone non-stop you can't expect the battery to last for 8 hours. To be honest 3-4 hours is very good if you using the phone non stop. But if you would like to make the battery last longer, you must activate Stamina Mode which pauses data traffic when the screen is turned off. But calls can still be received. I'm still gonna get the phone regardless of its minor problems.
The glass back and frame design is nothing but trouble. Now there are complaints that the light from the flash is leaking through to the camera one the lime & yellow models. I suspect it is leaking through the glass back. Models with opaque metal and plastic backs or opaque barriers between flash & lens don't have this problem.

Don't listen to this guy who says he doesn't believe you own the phone or that you misspelled 'nice' as 'niece'. He is on this site constantly debasing anyone who says anything is not 100% about this phone. My xperia "V" also took 3 hours for its 1st charge and I didn't like the display on it either (same as the Z1 compact). I hope you enjoy your new Z1 compact and thank you for being one of the 1st to give us your hands-on about the phone.
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2014First of all, no one would believe you. You got 5s, G2, them still you bought z1 compact? Why not? Some people have more than 1 television. I have a Note 3 for reading, an HTC for great "beats" audio through my jabra "tag" with bose earphones, an experia "GO" for going out in the weather an my baby is my Nokia 700 with its beautiful screen and poketability. If this xperia compact had a better display and more durable case I would consider getting it too. I heard there are camera problems surfacing with this model. Anyway, good advice to try the camera out first in the store before buying since Sony doesn't seal their boxes like Samsung does.

Well today I got my phone from Amazon De. The first of all sorry for my English, I am from Belgium.
Okay it's look like iPhone and in hand fill very good. Fool charge after 3 hours. Screen is okay but not like with my other phones (LG 2G, Lumia 925 and of course 5s) resolution is not bright ( on max) buttery excellent (till now 65%) but big problem is very low loudspeaker (extremely low). About the rest it's very middle class performance, definitely not top. The biggest plus size, it's comfortable phone, but I prefer LG or Nokia. I don't understand Sow hi rate, most of people don't have. My advice - try it in the shop before make decisions.
I'm in doubt...So which display technology is used for this phone TFT or IPS?
We are expecting a phone of the same specs with having a mid-range screen size of 4.55" for better viewing.... :)
hope it will be available by the time i get back in the philippines on april...
I don't know what kind of case or cover would be available for a phone with two glass sides. I never could find one where I live for the full size Z1
Anonymous, 04 Feb 2014I'm confused of which to buy between Nexus 5 and Sony Xperia Z1 Compact... Any suggestion guys?It is fairly simple to decide. Bigger Size, quick software updates, average camera & battery life - Nexus 5
Compact size, good camera, good battery life, delay in software updates - Sony Xperia Z1 compact

I hope you are not basing your entire life on spec lists you find at this site.
