hope it will be available by the time i get back in the philippines on april...
I don't know what kind of case or cover would be available for a phone with two glass sides. I never could find one where I live for the full size Z1
Anonymous, 04 Feb 2014I'm confused of which to buy between Nexus 5 and Sony Xperia Z1 Compact... Any suggestion guys?It is fairly simple to decide. Bigger Size, quick software updates, average camera & battery life - Nexus 5
Compact size, good camera, good battery life, delay in software updates - Sony Xperia Z1 compact

I hope you are not basing your entire life on spec lists you find at this site.

TFT capacitive touchscreen?! The worst! I already have a device with TFT display , and my ayes are sore every time i use my device . I used to have a LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen before and it was amazing display . I think Sony should make devices with some other display.
Anonymous, 04 Feb 2014No doubt another troll who does not know that Sony is using IPS LCD for this phone (I had no p... moreMe too didnt have any visual problems with the display of Xperia Z, it is a good display, but we have to admit that those displays were not battery friendly, and that is the most important improvement with Z1 Compact for many users, we can expect 13 hours screen on time for light tasks and then its not even at the lowest brightness.
Another way to show it is to look at the photon energy of electromagnetic waves. No need for a formula, but basically you can say that higher frequency waves has higher energy, and i mean a lot higher.
Radar has a photon energy of like 0.0001 eV (electron volts) or even less than that. But a "hard" x-ray can have a photon energy of 10 million eV, or more! These are dangerous, the short wavelengths, shorter then the size of an atom, make them able to interact with atoms, they can knock off electrons in atoms in a cells DNA which can result in cancer.
But see the energy level it needs to do this? its F'ing TEN BILLION TIMES more energy than a radar wave, which are more powerful than cellphone radio waves. Even so we can survive taking an X-ray now and then.
The lowest energy x-ray frequencies are like 1,000 to 10,000 eV, almost harmless but its still one to ten million times more energy than a radar wave, then how harmful can a cellphone wave be? Not only does it lack the required energy but it also has much too long wavelength to interact with atoms.
Anonymous, 04 Feb 2014Im talking about the front pocket of pants, not shirt. Does your shirt got back pocket?Lol....his shirt probably does! ha ha ha
zed, 04 Feb 2014Since this website is for xperia Z1 compact comments, are you saying I should connect my xperi... moreObviously not the brightest, as his/her comment was pretty simple and straight forward and clearly you failed to grasp a fairly simple concept.
patilan, 04 Feb 2014This is a really nice phone, but the screen is a deal-breaker.No doubt another troll who does not know that Sony is using IPS LCD for this phone (I had no problem with the previous TFT LCD) and probably has never seen the handset even! You trolls are pathetic.
zed, 04 Feb 2014There are quite a few policemen who got testicular damage from placing their radar guns to det... moreThats absurd, no policemen carry radar guns in their pockets and if they did then it would not be active, dont tell me they turned them on and put them in the pocket? And its still not ionizing radiation you know. If thats not enough, police radars are operating at just a few milliwatts, much less than a cellphone. The frequency of those radars are higher though but no radar systems operate at dangerous frequencies, the danger is only in the power output of serious radar systems, one military radar system we examined when i studied was said to be able to fry a chicken if placed near enough the antenna.
Police radars frequencies are about a million times lower than the lowest/mildest x-ray frequency, or a billion times lower than an airport security scanner systems.
I think you are making up this stuff as you go.
zed, 04 Feb 2014I won't be the one with testicular cancer from having my phone's microwave antenna in my front... moreI doubt you are military when you dont have basic knowledge about radiation, military personnel are around radiowave/radiation sources frequently and are educated about this simple stuff. With the exception of one big country in the world it is well known that cellphones cannot harm you and if they did your six o'clock would be in jeopardy.
