In the review its quoted that this phone has a below average loud speaker quality. can anyone using this phone provide a feed back on this.
AnonD-222879, 28 Jan 2014since iphone 5s costs 70k where even xperia z1 costs only 35k, so z1 compact will be around 32... moreIphne can't compare with this. The Z1 Compact has a superbly lightning Snapdragon 800 CPU, 3Gb of RAM and 20Mp camera, the iphne doesnt have have the shit of this yet not waterproof. The Sony Z1 Compact is truly solid and rugged. Don't pay more than what you should for a smartphone. Aluminium is not gold or silver, need not pay an arm and a leg like 70k for it. Go for the Z1 Compact. It's an all rounder.
Can someone tell me, or find out, when will Z1compact be available in Portugal?
I´ve waiting for this release for months!
I want it! I want it badly! thanks
Igot this beast testerday the xperia z1 compact and did some benchmark test on both antutu there it scord 34935 and on quadrant over 21000 which is very impressiv white balance is also onbord the overall performence is excellent
Viwa, 28 Jan 2014Which 1 do u think better 1...Z1s has got 5"screen, 32GB memory plus expandable & 300... moreDepends on the screen size you want. Internally both are the same in terms of processor, camera, ram etc. I would suggest Z1 Compact. It is traditional phone size which has everything that is in flagships today if not better
since iphone 5s costs 70k where even xperia z1 costs only 35k, so z1 compact will be around 32k...after z1 compact release in india, no one will buy iphone here....
Which 1 do u think better 1...Z1s has got 5"screen, 32GB memory plus expandable & 3000 mAh battery..where as Z1 compact has got 4.3"screen, 16GB plus expandable & 2300 mAh battery...i m confused for which one should i go for...? Any suggestions...
Definitely caught my eye... My next phone... Currently holding a Sony Xperia neo L flashed with custom ROM...
great connectivity, better cam, better battery life, better homescreen ui, better audio quality, equal and better display in some aspects, almost equal gph and gpu power wid minimum compromising, better memory options, watter proof and so on,..I dnt want to compromise to buy a 5s for fingerprint scrape.poor battery life vs z1c .almost a reasonable price tag!!
Anonymous, 27 Jan 2014Almost switched to BB Z10 myself after i managed to destroy my Z during some drunken activity,... moreI am usinng BBZ10 for half a year now and yes you are right...poor battery life, gesture & UX not so good but email & office apps are very good. The "Hub" is excellent. I am not the type of mobile gamer so I am keeping it but for my wife I am looking at Xperia Z1 compact. It looks promising, I hope the price is right and it arrives on time before our special day.

BB Z10 is cheap but poor battery and those gestures are not efficient, the UX is a bit poor, at least thats my impression of it.
I used to have z and then switched to z1 but as it felt bulky I again switched to lighter device BlackBerry z10 but I missed the ruggedness of Sony z's I hope z1 compact will be the best for me. Hope it's available in india soon.
If available please let me know where.
skan, 27 Jan 2014Xperia Z1 Compact is much faster, has more battery, and much better camera and is water resist... moreI would not say Z1C is faster than 5S, for example for taking photos the 5S is much faster, and the light OS footprint can make things feel faster/more fluid on iOS due to how things are done. Android is a true multitasking OS and does not suspend other tasks to give you max fluidity under all circumstances, whereas iOS suspends most tasks as soon as your finger touches the screen, it gives a total and absolute priority to input, webpages will even stop loading/rendering, all resources are being diverted to give you an impression of responsiveness and smoothness.
Anonymous, 26 Jan 2014I am in doubt between Sony XPERIA Z1 compact and IPHONE 5s, could anyone help me in that decision? If you go for 5S then make sure its 32 or 64GB.
What you choose is just a personal taste. The iPhone is unreasonable long so in the pocket it will not matter much which one you choose, you get a bigger display with higher resolution on the Xperia at just a few mm extra length, very good tradeoff.
iPhone is unsuitable for heavy callers, most higher end Android phones these days can double the 3G talk time, and the webbrowsing battery times are done with very low brightness, in fact everyone i know with iphones keep them at very low brightness due to the underwhelming battery size and they admit it cant last the day unless they keep on disabling connections and keeping low brightness which again means they cant use it outdoors in daylight.
Not that i expect Z1C to be a battery champ but at least a little better, and being standard micro usb port you can get powerbanks for less than $10, even at around $5-6, that does not happen with Apples lightning port.
By the way, the full review over at PA found that you cant set the Z1C to a very low brightness, it was 39 nits at minimum which is almost twice as much as Xperia Z (21). Hopefully will be fixed in a future update but for now it can be said to be a minor problem when using phone in very dark places. Compared to other phones its quite high, iPhone 5s has only 5 nits at minimum, Galaxy S4 more average with 9 but still thats more than 4 times less than Z1C.
Finally, iPhone has one big problem that is the main dealbreaker for many. Its possible to forgive the worst shortcomings, like the restrictions and limitations and the strict and annoying text input, but iTunes is much worse to accept, being dependent on PC connection with special software for simple tasks is not an option, too much to bear.
Anonymous, 26 Jan 2014I am in doubt between Sony XPERIA Z1 compact and IPHONE 5s, could anyone help me in that decision?Go for Sony. Beautiful and solid body, water- and dust-proof, bright sharp and scratch-resistant display, very powerful processor, good battery, more freedom and intuitive customisation with Android, loads of free useful apps VS with Apple most apps cost unreasonable money, expandable memory via MicroSD card VS Apple doesn't offer that, superb camera (proven by several reviews), nice in-call sound quality, more value for money (Sony £450 vs iPhone 5s £550) and in general Sony means unique, distinctive and classy. iPhones are everywhere these days. Why be like everybody else? Be unique. And you can trust Sony with quality, it's Japanese after all. Sony has made the perfect alternative to the iPhone ;)
