Anonymous, 12 May 2015is it worth paying extra for z3 compact or is z1 compact good enough? That's a tricky question. Well, it depends on the price. If z1 compact is real cheap, go for it. Z3 compact is a very small upgrade from z1 compact. But z3 compact is more newer, so means it has a longer support cycle.
is it worth paying extra for z3 compact or is z1 compact good enough?
I updated my Z1 compact to lollipop a month ago. The update is great. Camera low light performance has vastly improved, and the front camera now has less noise and more detail. The battery life is good, lasts 2 days with mixed usage(I use stamina mode). Battery charges slower, not a big issue. And the icons are a little big. Other than that, the update is great.

Salman, 02 May 2015Hi guyz can u plz tell me can we move apps to ad card and if we can then on which android vers... morei think you can move Part of the applications to the SD card not all of it (i think Data part), the actual application apk has to stay on phone memory (some of the data partition essential to functioning as well) ..
that's available on Lollipop .. dont think it was allowed before that, as SD card writing was prohibited ..
and yes, battery is quire good on this phone ..
Mayur , 04 May 2015Hi I have been using the Xperia Z1 compact from past 1 year,The phone is really great to use ,... moreif the factory reset didn't help .. you can go over to XDA developers, find 2 tools:
- Xperifirm (to find latest Official firm software)
- Flashtool (to flash the above firmware)
there is absolutely no rooting or bootloader unlocking or even warranty voiding (well, you're past that already .. :) )
anyways, get the latest firmware from your country (or another using the same network bands, to avoid other issues) .. download it, flash it WITH data clearance ..
the last possibility we're killing here is that the downloaded package was corrupted somehow .. but to till the truth, I have tried hong kong, italy, UAE and KSA .. and all didn't have any battery issues .. but were GREATLY improved with data wipe (improved like in Doubled .. from around 1 day to beyond 2 days now :D )
Hi I have been using the Xperia Z1 compact from past 1 year,The phone is really great to use , but after the upgrade of lollipop , the Battery drains off very fast , as suggested by many users i had also done a full factory reset , but the outcome is the same , battery still drains off even on standby mode. Can anyone help me on the same .. this is really irritating situation.is anybody now when is the next fix gone to release by Sony for battery drain problems..
