Pluto :), 04 Jul 2014I'm very interested in this phone and going to get it in August but I'm hearing rumours about ... morewell if sony is going to release z2 compact it is going to be around the first half of 2015 i am saying that because they released the z1c on jan 2014 so speaking about z3 thats so far away.
If u r really into games and watching alot of videos then the bigger screen will be better for u that the 4.3" inch that can be found in the z1c
My xperia zr never lags with 2gb ram and 1.5ghz quadcore. What more with z1c with snapdragon 800, 2.2ghz quad and 2gb ram.. Well z2 is way better with 3gb ram for multitasking
bigbrains , 05 Jul 2014Dear Sony Xperia Team, we really check and like your Xperia mobile phones. But then (again), p... moreZ1 compact and z2 lagging? Hell no, unless you did something wrong to your phone. Installed incompatible apps or deleted an important one..
Dear Sony Xperia Team, we really check and like your Xperia mobile phones. But then (again), please do well to improve on the outdoor brightness on both the Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z2. For the outdoor brightness are poor, and the phones freeze frequently, please. Thank you.
Anonymous, 04 Jul 2014By a new phoneVery funny. But is buy not by. Thanks to the other guy tho. Now as for my other question. Why does an unlocked phone needs to be rooted? Or for what?
Is it good , or is it cra* ? I mean , is it lag , is i freeze or staff like that ?
Dear Sony Xperia Team, please do well to improve on the brightness of Xperia Z1 Compact in broad daylight (outdoors) in the next system updates. We really do like and check beautiful and high-end mobile phones. We look forward to seeing the necessary enhancements in Xperia Z1 Compact's outdoor brightness. Thank you!
Bond, James Bond., 03 Jul 2014since it can not be removed, what am i'm suppose to do when battery reaches the end of it's da... moreThere are instructions on YouTube on how to remove the back cover so you can replace the battery. It can be done quite easily if you need to do it.
I'm very interested in this phone and going to get it in August but I'm hearing rumours about the Z3 and Z3 Compact. So should I get this phone or wait for the Z3 btw I love to play games and watch videos and bit of movies. Thanks
AnonD-278141, 03 Jul 2014I've had the phone for a week now...I was planning to get the Z2 initially but I was turned of... moreExactly my thoughts. I've been holding my hand on getting the Z1C hoping Sony would address its issues on the next iteration.
The 4.5" screen on the Z3C is the perfect size, and the S801 processor means better heat management, one of the reasons I sold my LG G2 was that it overheated. Finally the back panel with an anti-scratch coating and we got a winner. Battery should also be better on the S801.. not that the Z1C lacked juice.
I've had the phone for a week now...I was planning to get the Z2 initially but I was turned off by the huge number of reviews complaining about the camera overheating problem so I decided to get the Z1 compact which was my main target before the Z2 was announced.
My thoughts are:
Let's start with the cons:
1- Huge bezel...the phone is not really as "compact" as you think it would be. I feel they should have squeezed in at least 0.2 or 0.3 more inches for the screen.
2- It's a bit heavy.
3- External Speaker volume is not loud enough.
4- The flashbleed issue is really there...but I really can't figure out whether it's a hardware or a software issue. Sometimes you get nice photos with flash and sometimes they just suck. IMO it's not a hardware issue and I think it's a fault in the superior auto mode that needs to be addressed by sony. Anyway, photos in good light without flash are very nice IMO.
1- The phone runs smoothly, handles multitasking well. You'd normally expect that from a phone with those specs.
2- The main advantage of this phone is the battery life. It can last for a day and a half with moderate usage which I think is quite good.
1- If want an elegant handset that runs smoothly and you're not too much into videos and gaming then get this phone. It's a great substitute for the Iphone if you're like me and hate to deal with the ios and itunes and all that crap.
2- If you're a hardcore gamer or like to watch a lot of videos then go for something with a bigger screen.
3- If you're in no hurry to buy a new phone I suggest you wait. Right now I don't feel that there's a "complete" handset out there in the market. I think Sony will fix the overheating issue on the Z2 in the Z3 so that should be worth the wait if you want a big screen phone. Also I think they'd release a new "compact" phone with a bit larger display and better specs soon enough...probably to counter the Iphone 6 when it's released. I had to buy the phone now for personal reasons but I'd advise anyone who's not in a hurry to wait a month or two.
