This means there is no need of task killer to free Ram. I have dumped it.
Kitkat update (14.3.A.0.681) is available on update centre. Should I update to kitkat. Is there any way to remove notification of system update?
I have read on various forums that sound bug has been fixed in latest update.
Are there any other critical issues found in kitkat update?
Manoj S, 06 Apr 2014Hey,
I have Black Z1C...killer looks
Scratch guard is available for both Front Glass and B... moreThis is a feature of the Linux kernel that has been in use on desktop Linux since forever but not in Android prior to KitKat. Dont worry about it, its caching and actually helps performance and saves battery, its a good thing.
Basically it will try to use all RAM available, if more RAM is needed for a new app then this RAM can readily be overwritten without slowing down loading of the new app. If you try to open a previously opened app that is still cached in RAM it will be done insanely much faster than if it had to be loaded from the flash storage.
k a, 05 Apr 2014hi manoj
good to see your review.
which colour did you buy - black or white ?Hey,
I have Black Z1C...killer looks
Scratch guard is available for both Front Glass and Back Plastic side....no more fingerprint and dust issues... :)
New issue observed:
Apps running in background are eating up too much of RAM...Today the total RAM used was 1.5 GB out of 1.66 GB available (even though the phone was in ideal state)...had to restart the phone to free RAM..
(Task Killer was of no use)
Daryl24, 06 Apr 2014Where did you see z1c here in the Philippines?I saw it today...at SM Batangas Xperia Store...PHP24990...planning to buy it also..just waiting for the price to drop...:)
i love that they downsized the z1 without sacrificing the specs. it ay be just a few mm thicker than Z1 but for a small person like me, i think it is A-OK.
am still convincing myself though if is should shift back. am liking my son's blackberry but i miss sony's camera power. i might downgrade to Z ultra since am also after the writability of samsung's note 3
just saw it yesterday here in Philippines... This phone is great, I love the size, the screen, and the monster specs... The price is also cheap with its specs, Planning to buy after a a month... :-)
the phone is just amazing but only with 4.3. guys please dont update to 4.4 kitkat the worst ever update battery is draining too much faster. it might be a bug looking for a firmware update but dnt know when ll sony release it.
N.A. Sofi, 03 Apr 2014Screen not an IPS panel at all, it is TFT!..hmmmm actually it has a thin film transistor liquid crystal display being advanced with in plane switching technology. simple check...watch the viewing angles and the excellent contrast....if you have one.....rumors are only like hallucinations...............

xxZer0, 04 Apr 2014fingerprints and smudges would be a problem for black colored units.. but i think white color ... moreBlack is the best looking colour tbh because of the bezel. (I bought black)
>> Does the 20 mp camera perform like 20 mp camera? or just hype?
pixel means nothing. The camera is ok, just don't expect too much.
kerjie, 05 Apr 2014So the conclusion is this phone is more to fashion and not for super or extreme user?for me it's both but if you want to learn more about it, you can read online reviews or check it in stores personally...

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2014Why do people still argue if its a IPS or TFT? Look for it in stores and see the real thing.... moreDoesnt matter much, most of them are pedants and pedants use only iPhones, the rest of them are bashers seeking to exalt their own brand by trying to diminish others and would never buy an Xperia anyway.
Why do people still argue if its a IPS or TFT?

The screen is incredibly brilliant.
