[deleted post]This is controlled just the way you control lcd panels by sending instructions to each pixel and it emits light instead of blocking the other color as in lcd screens. So it doesn't require a backlight. The pixels emit their own light. This results in infinite contrast.
Clearly it shows who is smart here. I don't want this conversation with a person who thinks lcd is a better than oled. This is like teaching quantum physics to an animal. No use of it. I won't reply whatever you talk. If you wanna confirm, go to displaymate and see what the screen in s5 is. It's the broghtest, most color accurate, most accurate whites they ever tested. It also has very less brightness shifts at extreme angles and has seriously wide viewing angles. The z2 has a good display but it's not accurate and the display had a very low sunlight legibility. The verge told that the display is practically unusable outside. It stands no chance against s5 in display. That doesn't mean z2 us a worse phone than s5. It had its own advantages like good looking body and 3 gb ram.

A reputed Norwegian website did a camphone shootout between Z2, 1020, M8, S5 and iPhone 5s, testing under various conditions, and they disregarded video recording, features, effects and so on and focused solely on still quality.
Z2 came in second after 1020, Z2 had very good results under all the tested conditions. Iphone 5s on third and S5 came in 4th. The MAIN problem with Galaxy S5 camera is still the same as i experienced too often when i had Note 2, it is almost impossible to get good photos unless conditions are perfect, this is an old problem with Galaxy camera firmware that persists till this day. My Xperia devices always gave me more predictable and reliable results.
S5 has proved once again that Samsung phones are only for those nice days with perfect light conditions. Some months ago when attending some special events in a local church i was using my Xperia Z and the others had various Galaxy phones, and i was the only one of our group with useable photos from that day, the poor Galaxy users had to ask me to bluetooth the photos to them. And im not talking quality differences, the Galaxy photos were just not useable at all, you couldnt even tell people apart, you know you have a camera problem when you cant tell which is your child. This kind of light condition is very common in churches and certain other big indoors environments, theres many light sources and bright light coming through relatively sparse windows, its simply too hard for Samsungs firmware even on flagships but works well on a lower midrange old Xperia.
No doubt Z2 is THE camphone now, when counting in the low shooting speed of the 1020 it becomes unusable in too many situations, therefor Z2 FTW.

I don't think so, because have checked most of the retailers store today in Bangalore. Not yet available for purchase. It takes more 3-4 days to buy, as per store retailers.

Super nice phone
is fast
camera is super
aplications that there are very good
battery is very good
by far the best I've had
no lag no other problems
The only problem is that the camera overheating
if it is a software issue maybe sony Can fix it if its a hardware issue it Will Be a big problem for users note same users have this issue and some others not

TFT is not an LCD technology but the backbone of the display, the control grid if you will, and AMOLED displays use TFT technology to do this.
So TFT is one part of the display, another part is the often called the PANEL, and various panel types include TN, IPS, PLS and AMOLED.
See the lightswitch on the wall? And the lightbulb in the ceiling? Two different things, right? Now choke on your own laughter.
By the way, your rant about gamut was funny also, i just hope people here doesnt pay any attention to you.

I have a query about Z2 or sony phones in general. I heard someone say that if there is an issue in these phones, they need to be shipped to Sweden since only Sweden has the technology to seal the handset back with the water and dust proof standards.. Can anyone plz confirm on that? Bcoz thats 1 thing stopping me from buying this phone.. Thanks in advance..

just seen GSM's hands-on quick Xperia Z2 UI capability video...
M8 and S5 should really bow their tails and run, Z2 is by far superior in tech, UI looks/response time alltogether...
This is the KING smartphone this year!

Amoled is an OLED. And TFT and PLS are LCDs. They don't even come close to each other.

If Sony increases colour gamut its deep colour and detailed contrast and if samsung does it then its oversaturated. Meaningless logicless conclusion.

Of course, oversaturated colours does not mean more detail screen
It means more bolder than natural colours
Amoled is a kind of PLS panel and it is oversaturated and sometimes colours are influenced with yellowish hue
Wide viewing angle is the only one advantage of Amoled
Moreover, Amoled is based on TFT panel and it is merely a cheap display.Samsung sold it with high price: I think you are jealous to Sony products
