Athletes can have slightly lower heart rate at rest but a heart rate below 60 is called symptomatic bradycardia and could be a reason to see a doctor real fast. Also men who do not exercise often have pulse well below 70 when at rest, the differences from athletes are minimal, so small that it just as well be a case for the Mythbusters.
Blood donors are rejected even if they have slightly above 60 bpm.
My heart rate as i lie on the bed writing this on my laptop is 64-65, not even fully at rest. For sure im no athlete.

if whenever i... morefor people who are doing sports their hear rates should be slow ate rest ,slower than the normal population,finding a rapid heart rate might indicate serious cardiac condition like the one that causes sudden death to young athletes,also during exercise their is an upper limit to the heart rate,exceeding it might harm the person.....
i didn't tell you or any body to buy a specific phone,but for me i will be happy if my phone have this feature.
monitoring heart rate is a wise step specially for people who are doing sports like you,and for people who have some medical conditions.

samsung boy , 29 Mar 2014i m using samsung products from last 3 years....although you say its plastic or blah blah but ... moream i mistaken to read your comment that sony z3 is the worst phone this year??? how about try to read the other article in any blog of what happen ni mwc2014 in barcelona....lots of people impress about z2 specs on the day...when the next was samsung they took a trailer but nobody applaude it due to ugly bandaid cheap plastic worst specs....from galaxy s4 octacore and now galaxy s5 is rollback to quadcore.....you sure not a techi person...you only cares about being fibbing famed smartphone in samsung...s5 is not worth to compete with z2...it should be note3...so stop complaining this page...you only making samsung become worst to be blog....oh come on sammy..who cares about this person....how much do you pay with this man.........please stop trolling....you are not worth to be appreciated...to be care..to be aware and most of all.....you are not special in all above mention....

My Note 2 was pretty much a bad phone, full of bloat and not very useful features with lots of semi-defective S-apps. I think the word is POS.
And do you expect us to just accept the region lock? The region lock is Samsungs special gift to greedy carriers and i will never accept it.
Xperia saved me from Samsung, so much better UI, clean and nice and smooth, not to mention the premium feel compared to the glossy sweaty samsung plastic, and now with Z1 Compact and Z2 Sony has fixed the last problems, the new displays fixes both the battery life and viewing angles plus has the best contrast so far on any LCD.
All the old excuses to not buy Xperia are now invalid, there are no more disadvantages, at least non as big as Samsung disadvantages (bad designed, plastic, region locks, no FM radio, full of useless gimmicks +++)

may be its useful for old peoples above 60's.but not for a normal person.

u don't need to buy a special device to monitor your heart rate,it can be done just by using your hand watch.

A video review uploaded by clove.uk on youtube mentioned dat z2 in superior auto mode snaps pics at 8mp.. And 20.7mp option s der only wen u select manual mode.. Nw hwz the pic n cam quality previous z1 nd z1 compact users only will have to tell about it.

BTW! i do gym twice a day except sunday.....i never checked my heart rate during exercise and neither my mates......

regarding the fingerprint sensor i prefer to swipe to unlock so i will not accidentally unlock the phone while touching the home button.

fingerprint- well its a good feature.but the one in S5 still need some improvements...
swipe your finger on home button??? its kinda awkward. apple touch id is better because you have to put your finger on it not swipe it...
samsung took wrong decision by allowing 3rd party apps to use FP sensor...hackers can hack easily...well, still a nice step by samsung.
