AnonD-92587, 11 Mar 2014so what can be the reason for removing such a good thing?!As i said, by popular demand, people want tempered glass with oleophobic coating and now Sony has decided to listen.
I hope the glass will be glued on, like it is on for example Galaxy S4, i wouldnt want my pocket filled with a thousand razor sharp little pieces of glass next time i have an accident and the phone breaks in my pocket. Has happened to me before but the shatter proof sheet kept the broken glass in place.
AnonD-92587, 11 Mar 2014thanks, but is there any trustworthy source for proving that dragontrail is stronger than gori... moreDragon Trail Glass are manufactured by Asahi company and designed for thinnest lightest and most resistance
It was proudly used in z1 and it is better than gorilla glass
Screen protector removal will lose grantee of Sony but it does not have scratch on your screen because Dragon trail is harder than gorilla*****

I know there were some reports before about people who peeled it off and then reported better viewing angles, it turned out to be all placebo.

hey guys..maybe this is sound crazy. i have using samsung note 2 before and then i change it to htc one.. after that i sold it and change it to iphone 5s, honestlty i bought it because of the design, but now im regret, i love android more, i have using samsung before idk what the longger i use the laggy it is, there is alot of craps apps. so what do you think, should i change it again to android? like sony? i dont want samsung.
AnonD-242444, 11 Mar 2014Really pre ? Im planning to buy note 3 for 26000 php . But this z2 makes me think . Better in ... moreNote 3 has oversaturated colour and emit extreme light! Live colour Led display in z2 is very nice with full of natural colour*****
It is also plastic product and over large screen
So note3 has no handy and makes clumsy your daily use!
And note 3 has NO water&dust proof so you care much it like a pet dog .Caring note 3 will become your daily duty**** and it makes delays your daily life#
Ominibalance in Z2 will make you more perfact and lighter than note 3& other phone even when they are lighter!
Moreover Using often spen make tons of lags in note 3 note 3 user feel it silently* and note 3 used varied chipset so you can be fooled by samsaung marketing
In Z2 you can get 801 chipset happily worldwide as Sony has produced globally *One Chipset~One smartphone system*
3200mah battery(5.2"display) with stamina mood is perfect .Here note3 has only 3300mah battery although it has 5.7" screen
So only z2 is the wise choice!
Anonymous, 11 Mar 2014As far as i am concerned I'd say all Sony phones have some sort of screen protector on the fro... moreThe Z2 does not have this protector (which is a shatterproof sheet actually). The reason why Xperia phones had this up until now is that it is required by law in Japan, I guess the Japanese NTT DoCoMo version of Z2 will still have this sheet but due to popular demand Sony is dropping this from international models.
The sheet is not a bad idea, it really works, not only does is protect the display from impacts (its thicker and more absorbent than a screen protector) but it really holds a shattered screen together so you can use the phone normally without any injuries. If you look at some images of broken iphones you can normally see some blood stains, and this is what Japanese law want to stop. Theres no dangerous injuries but blood is not considered hygienic and carries a very high risk for spreading deadly diseases even after long time.
AnonD-92587, 11 Mar 2014i had an xperia z and the back glass was easily scrached, any infos about the matterial they'r... moreAs far as i am concerned I'd say all Sony phones have some sort of screen protector on the front straight from factory. For sony's like z, z1 and z ultra, they have a glass back so they also put a screen protector on the back. The reason why is this is to stop the glass from falling out or cutting someones finger once it is shattered. I have a z1 and i notice scratches within the first week of owning one. One thing to note is if you remove this screen protector Sony says you will void your warranty.
The 4 inch iPhone 5s without waterproofing has thicker bezels than the 5.2 inch Z2 with waterproofing BUT nobody criticises Apple for it but praise them sky high for their "Premium" design whereas Sony always gets fuck for a lesser crime I mean bezel.
Top bezel:
Xperia Z2 - 17mm
iPhone 5S - 17.5mm
Bottom bezel:
Xperia Z2 - 15.5mm
iPhone 5S - 17.5mm
The iPhone 5S also has by far the lowest screen too
when will it be available in South Africa
Cant wait to see on z2, if is anyone already use thias phone, just want to make sure that is on z2 apps can be move be to sd card or just like on z1?. Poor system less solution.

But this z2 makes me think . Better in specs sheet, waterproof, designs, stereo speakers, nice led notications, very elegant . But the battery back up i dont know . I used two sony phones before and it drains quickly. And i try z1 playing games like temple run and the on screen buttons is there . Is there an option hiding it ?
i had an xperia z and the back glass was easily scrached, any infos about the matterial they're using in this one? i wanna be sure about it, thanks :)
thanks, but is there any trustworthy source for proving that dragontrail is stronger than gorillaglass?
Sony is not using aluminum bezel guys it's plastic only so S5 and z2 r some what same only
"why would you want a waterproof smartphone?" it rains and people want to use their phones? I often walk in the rain and always put my current phone in a plastic bag - i don't need to with xperia. If no one want it, why has Samsung followed with s5......??? To be fair Samsung likes to copy features into it's smartphones and there is something to be said about the element of samsung ingenuity that they try to put all the cool and key stuff all into one phone.....I guess upcoming iphone are tauting water resistance as well
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2014why sony insist to use non removable battery Fixed battery and the use of power banks is proven to be superior to removable plus spare. Li-ion batteries must not be cycled as its called, never let your battery ruin down to zero, always charge long before it's empty, as early as on 40% you should charge. This will make your battery last many many times longer than TWO "cycled" batteries.
Also try to avoid charging more than 80% full since its approximately the point where charging will cease to use "constant current" method, everything above that point can be considered unhealthy squeezing.
By staying between 40 and 80% your one battery will stay healthier than 10 "cycled" batteries. Forget everything you know about ni-cd batteries, it does not apply to any lithium batteries.
