Well i have been using this phone for a year now and my wife too.
honestly, this phone is great.
The finishing is great although the back keeps finger prints all the time but nice glass finish is better than you know who cheap plastic cover.
And yes the water resistant is true.
I dont know why people keep saying that its not, i have used Xperia Z Z1 and Z2 for under water videos and photos and all run like charm.
I even took a 20 min video in sea water in Aqaba gulf with my Z2 and i just washed the phone from salt and sea water waited for the speakers to dry out as i read in user manual and thats it.
I dont like that people defend some manufacturers like its thier own company. This is a user review not a sony vs samsung competition.
If you like samsung go write a review on samsung page.
Back to Z2, performance is great even on heavy games.
The phone heats up a bit but in normal levels it doesnt get laggy or burn my hands. Or back cover pops up like some are saying.
The camera is great but not as advertised (shame on you sony).
If you are using automode its just 8mp.
But if you are good with cameras use 21mp manual mode and you get Dslr quslity photos.
4k videos heats up the phone and some times shuts camera app.
I recommend 4k for short videos like up to 3 min max. Otherwise use FHD.
Time shuft burst mode is great where you can take up to 60 frames with a single click.
Battery life is the best in all the phones i've seen exept Moto razr maxx.
On heavy using without stamina mode it lasts 24 hours for sure.
With stamina mode it gives you a day and half.
Normal use with stamina mode 2 days.
After one year now it still lasts a day and a half in stamina mode with bluetooth. Nfc. Data on 4g. Auto sync and wireless all on all the time.
The usb flaps are annoying u have to open them each time u wanna charge. Small price for water resistant.
Magnet charger is bullshit it took the phone 5 hours to 100% charge.
As for scratch proof i realy dont know as i always use glass protection stickers for both front and back glass.
Damage resistant is good but not on asphelt ,dents and scratches to aluminum body are very annoying and easy to show.i droped the phone from 1.5 meters on asphelt by mistake and it looks like it had a fight with a cat.
After all I realy recommend this phone.
It has its cons but its pros are great and its a high quality phone not like other brands plastic shit phones.

Z2 or Z3
Tell me deference ? Differences:
Z2 has bigger battery life than Z3 while in Z3 there is little heating issues and more expensive than Z2. Others are identical. If I were I would go for Z2.

Friend I have a z2. Bought 3 mnths ago, now the problem is battery draining fastly. Video playbak is 7 hr 17 minutes only.first time it was 8.30 Hrs. Now i didnt get time to complete trickle time charging. Is their any connection with that? Plz help me. Sorry for my bad english.

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2015thanks....my friend whst you say about lg3 32gb vs xperia z2Both are good phones but LG G3 can't handle apps and games well because of huge screen. Z2 is faster, has better camera and longer battery life.

I'm using Xperia Z2 (D6503) for 1.5 years. So far no issues with the device. Excellent camera especially in manual mode. The two stage shutter button is very helpful. No need to unlock the device or open the camera app. Just hard press it. Battery life is great on Kitkat. I can have up to 8 hours screen on time depending on usage. Standby time is excellent when using STAMINA MODE. Display quality is superb when viewing photos and videos. Speaker is loud and clear. Good for gaming and watching movies. Call quality is great. There are microphone filters you can enable on the call settings. Heating issue is normal when using mobile data (3G or LTE) UI is very smooth. No lags/hiccups. Gaming is superb. You can run all highend games without issue. Earphone quality is excellent when using DNC headset. Durability is great too. I don't use cases or screen protectors. Small scratches are there but not visible unless you look closely. Waterproofing is a bonus feature! Just make sure flaps are secured and intact.

Sony is launching a new ZN every 6 months, so there is little differences between 1, 2, 3, 5, (and the 4 ?? ) are just different batches of the same product.

I am going to buy Sony Xperia Z2. So I went to mobile shop yesterday and got the most Horrible news possible. I checked the same thing in 6 mobile shops in my area including Official Authorized SONY shop. The News is "Sony Xperia Z3, Z2 and Z ultra are officially DISCONTINUED". I said WTF. For Z ultra, I can understant coz its very old mobile. But how can they discontinue Z3 and Z2? Now only Z3 compact and other costly mobiles are available. Sony, what r u doing? I guess SONY is now only for Rich people or low quality midrange phones.

Just bought a second-hand Z2 for about 200$; first impressions:
- It's big, clear and powerful
- Battery holds great
- looks very delicate, and the USB socket is the worst of all! I have to find the right position to get data connection, and seems it will fall apart soon. I understand that in 2015 I should do everything wireless, but why make such a weak usb port?
- The 20 MP of the camera are just a marketing joke, you'll get nothing at this resolution. It's just decent at 8 MP.
Conclusion: I'll try to sell it away and get a more robust middle-range phone, or keep my old GT-S5570 with its honest 3MP camera, 256 MB of ram and rock solid usb port.
