This is a good device for playing ingress. As it's weatherproof getting it wet doesn't matter and thanks to it's battery you can play for four hours without having to charge.
Strange really, i've never had a problem with the glass breaking even though I have the Z Ultra which as you will be aware is nearly 1 and a half inches bigger than the Z3. I have it in my trouser pockets most of the time and I do bend over on many occasions and find it OK. Secondly about non user replaceable batteries, I have no problem with them, never had to replace a battery in any of my phones. Batteries will get weaker with time but I still feel that there will never be a need to replace them, plus the phone looks so much better with a unibody rather a phone that has a back cover which comes off so easily.
Z3, Think Twice! I bought a Sony Z3 based on them being a Solid Quality Company & it was time for a change, coming from Android & Samsung I was most impressed with the Look, Feel, Speed, Battery, Photos It took and of course Screen Resolution. Ive owned the phone for 3 mths & want it gone! With a leather case on the PH, my rear glass battery cover smashed from only a small fall, with that same fall a Microchip dislodged of the Mainboard so it now can not Auto Rotate or recognize any of the "Bump" functions. I got that replaced 1 mth later I sat down in a chair "normally & I weigh 78kg" & the Front Screen Cracked and the Phone is unusable! Cannot swipe to get into phone at all! Now I know ur thinking, "Oh bad run of luck" No, the Glass front and backs a Paper Thin just a matter of time before they smash, time & time again. Iv had Samsung for 5yrs dropped them countless times, they have actually fell apart yet never cracked a screen Also not that I needed to, but the Battery cannot be removed or replaced without destroying the rear glass cover, also bit Trivial BUT- the charging port is top LH side, when ur in bed & phone is on charge the cord pulls across the front, Bottom Charging is way less annoying trust me. If you are considering a Z3 buy a big roll of bubble wrap along with the purchase, and "write down" the number to the local phone repair guy in town because you WILL need it.
crixu, 05 Jan 2015HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! water resistant word is just for marketing strategy. :what is if i say i have tried it that it actually is waterproof. i took a photo of me in a pool under the water from under the water.

3) it doesnt need ois as its steadyshot does even a better job in video than any other phone with ois, photo could use it though, turn of steadyshot and you get equal photo and video quality to ois devices

1) you are a blind sony troll ; 2) you cannot check the physical condition of the battery in all the phones that do not have user replaceable battery? ; 3) water resistant is not important for most of the users ; 4) none of the xperia phones have optical stabilization for image and video ; 5) it is the user who should decide about battery replacement and not the company
Everyone has rights to post their opinion. If you cannot accept these you do not have any qualities to criticize sudhakar.
Special Edition, 05 Jan 2015Who will buy iphone?Ha ha ha, exactly then people shouldn't buy Sony, I-phones, Nokia & all other phones with non replacable batteries, forget it, he's a Samsung/LG troll.
I'd never ever dip my expensive phone in a flask or something just to test it's water resistant capabilities, now it's dust resistant also so i should bury it in the sand then.
S . SUDHAKAR, 04 Jan 2015Who will buy the xperia and some lumia series which are waste (non user replaceable batteries)?.Who will buy iphone?
I got Xperia Z3,on the very 1st day I dipped it in water flosk & set became dead.
Will Sony pay for the damage????????????
I think not buy sony because the product is not good and the service center is not good, can not fix their own products. and fixed charge repair
i really dont get it! people always complaining about mystical cracks appearing on z2 z3 z3c. one question though, DO YOU GUYS REALLY OWN ANY OF THESE?. I GUESS NOT. YOU DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA!
xperia are the most rugged phone ever had with unique apps icons. #xperia 4 life
I got the Z3 5 weeks ago, the performance, battery, look are perfect. but it seems it's not strong enough for daily use, just at the first week I got the back cover cracked while it was in my pocket, till now I don't why. Just today I got the screen cracked and the touch stopped responding after it fall on the floor just from 40cm height. such an expensive phone should not break so easily like this!!. don't get it unless you are a very careful user
S . SUDHAKAR, 04 Jan 2015Who will buy the xperia and some lumia series which are waste (non user replaceable batteries)?.Everyone who tend your opinion as nonsense...
jj, 04 Jan 2015User replaceable battery is an argument when it matters. With Z3's battery performance it's OK... moreUsers do not need water proof because they know how to handle high end phones to keep it away from water. So forcing the 'non user replaceable battery' in the name of waterproof or any other reason is UNACCEPTABLE.
jj, 04 Jan 2015User replaceable battery is an argument when it matters. With Z3's battery performance it's OK... moreDuring warranty if you replaceit by force removing the back cover, warranty will be void. That too a youtube video states that you must use 3M glue to stick the back cover after changing the battery. What the hell?. I do not criticize only sony. Samsung also has started digging its own grave by launching 'A' series mobiles with non user replaceable battery. How will you know whether the battery is swollen or not in such cases?.
