I'm using a xperia zr so I think i'll upgrade to a z3 compact, and then hopefully the z5 compact by the end of next year if sonny continues with this 6 month Release cycle.
MG, 05 Sep 2014The LTE bands are incorrect. Please refer to the white paper of Xperia Z3You right, the D6603 supports 10 LTE bands, the same as those listed for Z3 Compact which are the following frequencies: 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600. Quite complete, to bad they didnt add TD-LTE 2300 while they were at it so it would work also in India. The D6653 does support TD-LTE 2300 but support only a few regular LTE bands (wrong bands listed here for D6653)
Blazer, 04 Sep 2014That old z2 has 3200mah but z3 has 3100mah with high processor.. Battery will easy to drainActually, due to newer tech, the battery is supposed to last longer than that of the Z2 which, by the way, is a beast!
Mister_V, 05 Sep 2014Is it just me or has Sony and its Z series of phones taking a page out of Apple and its iPhone... moreApple, slightly improved? Other than iPad 3 to iPad 4 there has always been significant updates and important additions on both iphones and ipads. 3GS to 4 was huge, 4 to 4s was massive, 4s to 5 was no small thing internally and also brought very big changes in exterior, 5 to 5s was just awesome and mindblowing, the world got shocked over the new 64bit chipset and the TouchID, it was the biggest thing in the entire year of 2013. I was never a big fan of Apple but the 5s blew my mind and commanded great respect.
And still i didnt even mention the updates iOS has gotten with each new phone, iOS 6 to 7 dwarfs most updates with quite a margin.
Specs are misleading, there is no option for 32GB storage, only the D6616 has 32GB (and no 16GB option). I guess D6616 is a carrier specific model for USA.
Too bad anyway, 32 should have been the standard and no 16GB model should be offered, lots of people need more than 16 and dont like to mess with uSD cards.
AnonD-78022, 05 Sep 2014Hahaha?.. Sony is still an independent maker. Please dont incorporate fingerprint scanner for ... moreFingerprints are not stored in iCloud, dont be so ignorant. Fingerprint scanner is great when it works, like Apples TouchID, but its a useless gimmick when it doesnt, like HTC and Samsung, epic failures. I hope Sony will have it also when they find something thats good enough, ie TOUCH and not swipe. TouchID is so good that even a sworn Samsung fan i know wanted to get the ifone 5s, if Sony can make it half as good it would be a success.
waiting for sony to launch 20.7mp with super amoled display mobile models
Anonymous, 05 Sep 2014Cant wait to buy one still confuse between the copper or the white. I agree.
Hahaha?.. Sony is still an independent maker. Please dont incorporate fingerprint scanner for the sake of joining the bandwagon. Someone tried to hack iCloud. Those delicate fingerprints of yours is now readily available to hackers (ahem.. Apple and samsung) remedy? Just dont use that feature.
True, the design us now even better. More clean and elegant. I mean, the note 4 is quite powerful, but it lacks the design of a true flagship.
I'm a bit sad though because i own a 2 months old Z2, knowing that it no longer is the top Sony geezer... But heck! All i'm waiting for is Z2 vs Z3 !
Cant wait to buy one still confuse between the copper or the white.
I love this Phone its really Awesome
Unlike the UGLY Note 4 !
SONY is the best ...
sudhakar, 05 Sep 2014What's the difference in snapdragon 801 and 805. I know its a bit faster and has a graphs boos... moreya I agree, even 800 & 805 dont have big different. I'm still using my Z1, & I think I'll wait for z5 or even z6 prolly, with 810 on it
Noooo, just bought a Z2 couple of weeks back & was pretty excited about having the latest flagship from Sony now they released Z3, atleast they should have waited for a couple of months more, ha ha ha.. Just kidding by the way Z2 is awesome but is no more the latest offering from Sony after the arrival of this wicked Z3 :-(
Is it just me or has Sony and its Z series of phones taking a page out of Apple and its iPhone's strategy book.
Step 1. Make hardly noticeable improvements to device
Step 2. Release slightly improved model as new product at higher price
Step 3. Profit
