ToM, 11 Dec 2014Looks nice and cute, but the glass finish of the phone seems extremely fragile. Just one small... moreI recently checked out Alpha and Sony Z3 C in a Mall just a few stores away at Sony Store and AT&T (for Alpha).
The speaker on the Alpha was louder than the particular Z3C I compared.
However- some Z3Cs are apparently louder than others, according to Videos with 2 phones next to each other and User reports.
Maybe different speakers are sometimes used.
Alpha speakers are lacking in bass, but loud and
Some Z3Cs are loud but muffled, some loud and clear (less bass than HTC One M8 ,always) and some are quieter like a single speaker Android -wide variation apparently.

This is a very good phone. I have it for two weeks now and I can say, first of all, the battery life is pretty impressive - 3 days on a charge, and I'm browsing internet, listening music, facebooking, some games from time to time, but mainly is music - but all of this, lets say about 4-6h h a day. I don't understand people complaining about this, about won't going through with a charge, as it is impossible to stay 24/7 with the device in hand and to do all the things, really.
Speakers are good, signal also in my area.
I only complain about some bugs in the software, hopefully will be fixed in the Lollipop - some theme and widget crashes, but it happened only once, in the second day.. since then, no problem at all. and the quick menu sometime it freezes for a second after scrolling down.. nothing to worry about though

"Hey lets make a gap also, but ours will have light!". Someone please take the Xperia product line away from these clowns and return it to Ericsson while it still can be salvaged.

Sony cannot fix it, its up to Google and they dont seem to take it seriously, what do Google care if you have to do airplane mode cycle once in a while, when they are too busy finding new ways to serve you ads? Lucky for you its only the mobile data, some Android users cant even receive text or call before they cycled the airplane mode.
SaM, 15 Dec 2014How is the loudness of ringtones ? I read only one speaker is used for ringtones...I'm pretty sure it uses both speakers, either that guy got a defect unit or simply lying. The speakers is quite loud, but sound clarity is not that good when it is at high volume IMO, you can also check on the review from btekt
I have been using my Z3 compact for 2 month. I dont have any issues with the screen self cracked or made a popping noise like other had mentioned. However, i did encountered a problem with the backlight leaked through the gap slightly below the front facing camera. Overall it has been a great phone.

I've had the Z3 compact for almost 2 months now & I have no issues with screen self cracking or any such issues... The only issue I'm facing is that the Mobile data doesn't work when I go to my garage then to an area with network.. I have to turn the Airplane mode on then off for it to work (which is probably in my device only)... Otherwise an amazing phone by all means.
Is it real that the screen get cracked easily and has selfcracking issue??And which is better z3 compact or nexus 5
Rod from phil, 12 Dec 2014In that case its better to buy on a physical store, coz when I bought mine they broke the seal... moreBoth my Sony Z3C come unsealed there was no seal on both of the? I am UK and bought them online Unlockedmobiles.
I really love this phone. In my eyes, Sony is still the top legend of electronics world.

Anonymous, 14 Dec 2014What do you think? Z3 Compact or LG Nexus 5? Thanks in advance.Of course, Z3 Compact. More compact in size, battery life, chipset, water resist & anti dust, expandable memory up to 128 GB, quality in camera, PS4 Connection, and handsome design.

Best Android phone, but still not perfect.
Downsides - glass on back is fragile, I've heard it is supposed to have very tough glass front and back. That's a lie. Rear glass is not high quality like the front screen. Due to waterproof and heat generated by the powerful specs, the phone is prone to inner pressure and that makes the glass much more fragile than even other phones with glass on the back like iPhone 4. Get a good quality case and be careful with this phone.
Also, I find it less comfortable than I expected. Its smaller, yeah, but not compact. It's square, kind of heavy.. doesn't quite "become a part of your hand".
Other than that its perfect. Love the phone.
