AnonD-70078, 01 Oct 2014Gsmarena actually rated the audio output as very good. And I can tell you now that there fair... moreSpeaker volume is deliberately low, and also the headset volume, they are hysteric about hearing damages among kids and youth in Sweden, and Sony phones are for a large part developed there in Lund, that used to be the headquarter for Sony Ericsson Mobile and is now fully owned by Sony.
Wish someone would tell those guys that hearing damages are self healing, its only those who live in a CONSTANT noisy environment that develops hearing loss, or in some cases with extreme noise (like helicopter pilots of old times before active noisecancelling headsets were available, usually not so much hearing loss but some developed a constant noisy sound that they would hear all the time that overshadowed other sounds).

Well, that is how it is to not have a clue, lucky most people are smart enough to not take his word for it.
I agree that unlocking is unacceptable, phones should work right out of the box. I went to the Sony store yesterday to check out Z3 and Z3c to see if the Whats New app really cannot be disabled without compromising the phones but they didnt yet have it and the salesgirl i talked to didnt know all the new things in 4.4.4 as well.
She did however tell me that Z2 bends and that they have been instructed to tell all customers that phones that size must not be carried in a pocket, pocket damages will not be honored by Sony warranty. Z1 Compact however was supposedly OK to carry in a pocket, for now at least, but if Z3c is as weak as the drop test says it is then Sony may decide that pocketing is illegal also for Z3c.
darkraver, 02 Oct 2014You should check e-root Its a one click root app... You dont loose anything by rooting, only... morehow do you get the games and apps on to the sd card to start with. on z3 you only have option to put music, photos, videos. .
Got a question guys, how much RAM does the Z3 compact use by default, like when you just get it, and you haven't installed your own apps.

Anyway buy yourself this phone...
I guess you need more space for games, no other reason...
Luckily for me I'm not that much into games...
But you have an option until proper rooting method comes
In settings, backup your apps with all data and stats to SD card...keep only games you play most on internal...(I have 7 big games on my 16gb Z1C)
Whenever you want to get back games from SD card just reinstall them...

For now you have to unlock your bootloader to root the phone. And that makes you lose features. That's a huge deal breaker for me. I really want to buy this phone :'(
The Z3 Compact seems really nice with ideal form factor for me. Too bad the phone doesn't have larger internal storage options, which is a deal breaker.
I prefer large internal storage to expandable options. Well, It'd be nice if both were present though. I hope..
Hayalet, 01 Oct 2014Yeah root.. But rooting is not as easy as at all phones. My only reservation of buying Sony ph... moreYou should check e-root
Its a one click root app...
You dont loose anything by rooting, only by installing other roms
Then get Titanium backup or sth...

And I can tell you now that there fairly good. But I think people are not reading the review correctly. Gsmarena said the loudspeaker volume is poor and when you have someone speaking on loud speaker is pathetic
Trust me, z2 is too heavy, i have use that for a month, and i ditch it, everything is good, specs are good, just it is too harsh for one hand operation (even i have a above average size hand).
Trust me, size does matter for your daily life, it's even smaller than iphone 6 almost 1cm shorter, i will buy Z3 compact very soon =)
Hey z3 compact users, is this a worth it buy?? I am confused with z3 compact and z2 which phone do you guys recommend? I always do with my phone is nba 2k14, twitter, facebook and instagram
Hey z3 compact users im planning to buy this and im confused with the z2. All i do with my phone is play nba 2k14, twitter, facebook and instagram.

Now that I have seen some Youtube Videos of Z3 C and asked a few owners it seems the volume of the speakers is higher than the Review Specs.
Maybe a pre production Z3 C was measured in GSM Review and the actual production Models are better ?
Either way, the Z3 C volume of speakers seems to be very good , so will not be a problem if I buy one.
Your point about Headphones volume is well taken, I think manufacturers keep volume lower to protect Hearing, but volume seems to depend on which headphones, some report loud volume, some say lower.
Speakers on Z3C are said to be about like Z2 was, good volume ,not as full as HTC ONE M 8.
