Really awesome phone, but I am really disappointed with their pricing strategy. Launched in India for rs44990/- its too much overpriced, will wait for some price drop then I will buy it. It is now available in Sony stores for purchase.
darkraver, 25 Sep 2014All I can see is a one day increase from 15 to 33% interest for this fabulous phone.... Maybe... moreI can promise you that Xperia Z doesnt pass any bend test, it break in the same spot as the 6 Plus. And i have a broken Z as proof right here. Stop being an annoying kid for a while and admit that the autocrack feature of Sony isnt a myth.

One of my phones is a 3 inch Xperia Mini and i cant say i ever used it much with one hand, and i think a lot of people arent aware how rarely they use their phone with one hand.
The Z3c is only 3mm longer than iPhone 5s so in pocketability they are very similar. Still, at the moment im leaning more towards the 5s than the Z3c, and i have no chance to test the Z3c before maybe another month, not yet launched here.
Aaah I hate sony,I am a htc&blackberry user from the time that htc hd2 was the king.once a time I changed to sony xperia t. I had too much problem with display lcd and atlast the display did not turn on forever.i cameback to htc and I never buy sony.sony is made by china and the quality is more less than htc by Taiwan.even blackberry is better than sony.

I thought my kind has extinct in this depressing era of giant phones. I'm glad to find there are still people like me who prefer smaller phones. I agree with you, 4.6" is still too big to be called compact/mini.
can we pause video recording in z3 compact as that of xperia z3 feature...??
Lovely phone but compact? No way Jose, this is still too big to use with one hand unless you're a bear. A 4" screen is still the maximum for a compact.

STOP making low end phones, u will never compete against China phones in this category. Focus on high end ones. Learn from Apple marketing strategy. Also as a camera module supplier, your Xperias should show it on the real world not just on MegaPixels and larger sensors.
after my z1 screen got cracked ( was left on table while i was sleeping ) and sony refused to repair it to me saying warranty not covering such things and wanted to charge me half of phone's price to repair it , i will never do the same thing i did buying sony's phone , how would the high end specs be useful for me if the screen gets auto cracked? no sir ...

Maybe some iphone users actually coming to their senses after than bend test....
AnonD-43988, 25 Sep 2014Pretty impressed with this phone. I am not very fond of big phones and anything over 4.7"... moreNice comment. If it was released earlier buyers of iphone 6 undoubtedly would've considered this before wasting their hard earned money with a pseudo bendable iphone 6 with a lame battery, but then Sony is busy releasing low end phone which are trumped b cheap China phones. Sony needs to be aggressive in releasing quickly the Z3/Z3 Compact and forget about making low end ones, will help them save costs.
Pretty impressed with this phone. I am not very fond of big phones and anything over 4.7" is too big for me.It is one of the few phones to provide flagship performance in a compact factor.
However the most impressive aspect for me is the BATTERY LIFE. Due to my work, I often have to stay overnight in different places, sometimes rural, and sometimes they don't have regular electricity supply (I am from India). Plus I don't like to carry chargers everywhere around with me.
My average usage is about 1hr of call, 4hrs of browsing/mails and 2hrs of video (generally a movie or a couple of TV episodes while I am travelling). All the phones I have used start running low on the second day. But if I go by the battery test figures, it will be able to last me for over 48 hours with this usage!(This is the first compact phone in the GSMAarena Battery Test Database to do even 40 hours) I could maybe even get a third day if I have to.
Add to that the Dust and Water resistance, which is useful because of the outdoor nature of my work, and I AM SOLD.
It is launching today in India. Can't wait to get it as soon as possible!
CAli, 23 Sep 2014Your comment/question is cracked! What type of foolish Question is that??? SONY=TOP NOTCH It isn't foolish, it was very real and many people were quoted $300 to repair it on the original z1 compact. Maybe overheating issue was the issue, maybe it was something else. This is why I am interested to know if this glass is different from the first phone. I'm mostly sold on the phone but his issue bugged me.
