DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!
Yes, this phone has a good battery life and it is waterproof. However, it has a fatal flaw: a self-cracking screen. This issue has been reported on various forums and website. Mine was three months old when it cracked during the night. Fine in the evening, a cracked screen in the morning. The cracks are really fine but unfortunately not merely an aesthetic issue; the touch screen isn't working anymore, rendering the whole phone inoperable. Sony is flat-out denying the issue. All issues with the screen are deemed user related and therefore not covered by warranty. Repairing the screen will cost an estimated $ 300 AUD ($ 250 US). Other users have reported self-cracking after the screen repair, so not worth the effort. Bottom line: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE (or rather from the entire z-line; the problem doesn't seem to be restricted to the Z3 Xperia compact).

My z3c never had any problem. Self cracking seems like a hoax to me. Self heating issue too, but I don't play games. No dead pixels either. The only things I hate is defaults app you can't remove.
Anonymous, 14 Jun 2015I love my green z3 compact! Im just having a hard time looking for a case here in the PhilippinesCheck "my watches and more" in facebook, they have available cases for Z3c :)
I have a sony xperia z3 compact for about three months, this last month, my phone's battery started to run out quickly even without any feature such as bluetooth or wifi on.
I have this phone over 6 month and now I realy think I got defect unit. My z3c came without any problem which most people mentioned here. Performance are great after lollipop upgrade (even tho I miss some cool features from kit-kat), battery last more than 2 days now when I don't play any game and no heating or self cracking issue. And in july sony starts rolling L5.1 which I assume will be even better
[deleted post]Maybe it only felt like that but it went slightly hotter with lollipop android.

If i buy this phone today, would it be still wortht it? Does sony will release any compact soon?
while mAH is a contributing factor to battery backup. The battery backup doesn't solely rely on just the battery capacity. Other factors like the processor fabrication, frequency etc etc. Come into play. The type of hardware present is as much responsible as the usage by the user is, other than that Sony interface is lighter than most also Sony provides software level tweaks that are more efficient as compared to any other company. So overall this device I.e the Z3C is a clear winner even in battery backup.

I just bought a Z3 Compact and I must say that it worth the money. Finally a good camera photos and videos many settings and effects like slow motion and steady shot battery time is ok and so on. Too bad that is too big and it's hard to use it with one hand. Very slippery. I didn't try it under water and I won't because of a lack of trust :)) And it getting hotter when using camera too long. Aside from that it's a good one.
