First of, everyone's amazed by the 4K screen and honstly, it's amazing considering we are talking about a 5.5' panel.
However, what we shall ask is: How will battery fare with that kind of screen?
Sony's proven to be really good on balancing battery draining on their high end devices (not so much on mid range and bellow), however, IPS displays have proved not to be the best option in energy efficiency compared to amoleds (turning off pixels while black and decreasing pixels light when using gray scale).
Other point that bothers me is performance and overheating. I know this is probably the fixed version of SD 810, however, I can't help but to worry considering it'll be rendering LOTS of pixels all the time and whatever u do (games, videos) will put even more of a strain on the processors (And let's be honest, android with skins on isnt exatelly the best performancer out there).
Overall we'll have to wait for reviews to pop up and if none of the above issues prove to be an actual issue, the only thing I'd add to that beast is OIS, I love taking photography with my phone (regardless if at night or day), so the extra stabilization always come in hand.

This phone is an answer for the geeks, if there wasnt demand, sony would never deliver.
But mostly asian kids asked for more screen estate, more megapixels, more resolution, more speed, more everything...
It may not be for me, just like Kardashian isnt just because she has more juice. But i reckon that is what attracts many, so here it is!

xperia Z5 Premium =3gb RAM loserSorry dude, my S6 Edge has 3gb RAM and at any one time only around 500 - 600 mb is ever free! In the days when I had the Z3/LG G3I usually would have around 1.2/1.7 gb free. The S6's RAM management is absolutely appalling.
Think I will be holding on to my S6 Edge until the Z5 Premium is up for release, then it will get sold to part fund my soon to be Xperia Z5 Premium! That screen alone will make the change worthwhile and no more Touch Wiz....Touch Wiz needs to go on a serious diet!

Well well as LG fan, i must say that i went usually to LG because it was cheaper in my country. When i had option of Z2 i have chosen LG g2 since it is 5eur cheaper on month payment and because of too much robust design. Too edgy. But i really like Sony Z5. Especially premium, since i wwant 5.5 inch display.
Looking at comments here sometimes im disgusted by this war of brands. Some are for Samsung others for Htc etc. So what?
Who cares for 70k benchmark on Samsung? I dont. I dont have a luxury to buy Nikon or Sony cameras, so i want the best possible camera in phone, for me to handle. Each have preferences here or there. Up until now i thought G4 gonna be my new phone, well dont know that now. Point is that if G4 Pro comes out is still be a bit cheaper device. So for me here are the key points:
1) design with Z5 looks better for me than previous models
2) looking for a great camerA WHwhich z5 looks to have
3) looking for micro sd and battery replacement, unfortunately latter is nonremovable
4) SD810 is not that big of a problem if Sony did their job in reducing heat issues. Im not a gamer so for me it is ok. 3gb ram is cool and there is radio with rds and great high res sound.
I think whichever i choose it will come down to preference and price. Also sound of 4k is really appealing. 800 ppi amazing. Great device. Gonna be blasting fall.

I love the 4K display , but why SD810 ? Should have gone for Exynos 7420 with an overclocked GPU , an Nvidia SoC or the latest PoweVR Rogue GPU .

The z5 premium having 4k screen is stupid because the normal Z5 will be faster than the z5 premium as they both share the same cpu and memory but the z5 doesn't have to power a 4k screen like the z5 premium. The z5 premium has to power an extra 300 ppi more than z5. Z5 premium could definitely suffer from lag
