Just placed mine in my shirt pocket, and it slipped in so easily. Yes it does stick out slightly, but width wise there is no problem which is really good news.
After using my Xperia Z ultra for 5 months now, it only lets itself down on one thing...the camera. I happily agreed to owning mine knowing this but if I could send it for a "modification" it would get an LED flash...and maybe some more megapixels. So here's my z ultra 2 wishlist.
32gb internal memory+sd card slot.
Quad HD 6.5" display
20 megapixel camera and flash.
4000 mah battery
And no bigger than the current model.

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2014no flash no changeable removable battery low sound volumes - we have one ..We all have our own opinions and my opinion is this an overall brilliant device, it's going to be very difficult for any other device to beat this. You don't need removal battery, I have never removed my battery in any of my phones for any reason so your reasoning doesn't make sense. I've never used flash either, you don't need it unless you're desperate to take pictures during the night. For me the volume is very loud, how much louder do you want it.

Just been playing with my new Z Ultra, unbelievable piece of kit, only had a few hours and initially looked massive but I'm already getting used to it. It certainly doesn't look too big to use as a phone, and I certainly will be placing it against my face without any care what other people think. Sound is actually very good, not what many people have been saying. It certainly very thin and I feel they could have made it slightly thicker, bezels seem fine because I find that the top and bottom bezels become quite handy in holding the device in landscape mode. It may be a struggle getting it in a pocket but I shall find out sometime today when I take it to work, I don't think it should cause too many problems. Battery life is quite short and it seems that charging is quite slow and long. Just upgraded to Kit Kat 4.4.4 and thankfully there hasn't been any problems as yet. I've also tried the camera both the rear and front facing and both are excellent in normal light, however in low light you need to edit the photo and increase white exposure which actually improves the photo considerably. Haven't tried the video yet but will do today. Messaging is wonderful especially in landscape mode. When I registered my google account, I was delighted to find that all the apps I had downloaded on my previous device suddenly all appeared on this device, which saved me so much time having to install them all over again. It's a lovely device and certainly better than anything Samsung can offer, I have mine on a 2 year contract and I shall be making the most of it. I don't think I could use a smaller device, not after having used this beauty, it's premium and luxury in every way. Three's 4G is also very fast, I have three's all-you-can-eat-data so it's unlikely I shall be using wifi. If there is anything else to comment on I shall give a further update.

If anyone's not happy with the loudspeaker sound, just download mxplayer it will almost double the sound, tried with my LG 4x hd, what a difference, it more than doubled the loudness and it went all the way upto 30 for maximum sound, but I have been keeping it at around 10 and it's been great. Do try it, mxplayer is the best video player around, as far as I know it plays every codec and as I have mentioned improves the loudspeaker's sound.
Will be receiving my Z Ultra today, can't wait. Will give my personal opinion once I've had it for a couple of days.
Bought it 3 days ago,so far so good, rear camera is superb as am just a regular joe taking pics for work.Im not a photographer yeah? Coming in new, there are too many inbuilt apps which I dont think necessary like file ttansfer apps as we just put in when connectrd to usb 3.0 port.
As a IOS user for the last 2 years, I think music management suck big time for android users, when you use ITunes, things r way simpler n boy I wished android could b the same. However, u cannot be choosy as they only offer 16gb (11gb available) n have to be satisfied with this.
Overall, the phone can handle multitasking well n there shud be no worries for new user.Thank you.
Shatter proof means it would not shatter into pieces but can still crack if you subject it to high impact or pressure. A car made of metal can also break apart in an accident what makes you think any phone wouldn't? The cracked but not "shattered" screen would thus allow better chance of data recovery. Their screen is actually coated.
Been using this phone for a week. Very responsive, really nice screen and great battery life. Loving the design so much. Best phone I have used so far.
my screen just got shattered so i dnt understand what they really mean with the shatterproof specification
Bought it as a second (work) phone since it was reduced to HK$27xx a couple of months ago. Whilst the ZR is suffering from the 4.4.2 update bugs I switched to using the Z Ultra as the main phone. It is big but soon I felt I can't go back to the 4.6" screen!
Screen is great, bigger screen size makes reading and emailing very good
Music sound better than the ZR
Battery is much better than i expected
(though I have been using JB 4.3 because I don't dare update to 4.4.4 since I have lost a lot of faith in Sony's updates)
YES the phone is big and sometimes it is hard to use just one hand but you do get spoilt by the screen size......
Another satisfying z ultra user~ mine is not exploding....yet~ blame your own unfortunate instead of the phone quality~ tell me what phone won't crack and what brand would warranty a cracked phone?
