ex Sony fan, 14 Jul 2013Out of my last 100 photos i found 22 taken without flash, and maybe 8 of those would have been... morethe sensor of xperia z ultra is capable of taking good photos in low light
Out of my last 100 photos i found 22 taken without flash, and maybe 8 of those would have been better with fill flash. I also found 12 photo where i used fill flash that could have been ok without flash, and a few low light photos that could have been acceptable without flash. Then im still left with more than half if my most recent photos being impossible without flash.
shbi, 14 Jul 2013I don't know what is your problem, xperia z ultra is not made for camera purpose, and it doesn... moreI hope your mini version of i1 honami (ray 3) will have LED flash and higher than 8MP cam.
iPhone 5 has LED flash.
I prefer the plastic bulky Nokia Lumia 1020.
Sony should rule but like LG make mistakes. The race is not over and I think the Japanese will make an impact to some degree on the smartphone market.
How big has yet to be seen.
Tcool, 14 Jul 2013I hope it will also include the camera LED flash.I don't know what is your problem, xperia z ultra is not made for camera purpose, and it doesn't have a flash because of extreme thinness, its 8mp exmor rs camera is enough for low light imaging.as i said before xperia z ultra isnot for kidds who like to play with plastic toys.....its made foe adults who like high end products. And mini version of i1 honami (ray 3) will be a direct rival for iphone 5s
Sony will release the mini version of honami with 4.3" HD triluminous display and with same snapdragon 800 soc.(according to rumours) and will be water and dust resistant.
no led flash so not good one by sony ...........wait for other.......one which complete have no drawbacks....
This thing is an absolute animal. I just hope that tft is a much better performer than the one in the Z
I do think sony intended this to compete with 7inch tablets with phone capability like the asus fonepad, galaxy tab etc... that is why like most 7inch tablets, this does not have led flash. It is close enough to be a 7inch tablet. But I agree that it would be nice if it had one but it is no deal breaker to me. I don't use the led flash on My Xperia Z most of the time while taking pictures. I don't take a lot of flash pictures on my asus 7 inch tablet either. :-)
sony can u pls tell me why der is no led flash at d back ,,,i just dont know wat u r tryin to do ,,hope u wont came out with a differen model with led ,,i wont like it ,,,pls if u do something ,,do it well..
for now think abt that,,,before u bring it out..
the Z Ultra is a awesome device, BUT still too BIG for me and not my style for carrying a big phone :(.. so i will skip it for the Honami :).. XD Go Sony Go!
mas39, 13 Jul 2013Flash - I cannot remember the last time I used a flash on one of my smartphones, I do find it ... moreI need a flash because I take pictures on jobsits with many times very low light. I need to clearly see products and serial numbers plus other details. My phone, like most people, is my only camera, if I had a dedicated camera, I'd never have it with me when I need it. I'm constantly using flash and glad to have it. Too bad Sony omitted a flash for the Z Ultra, otherwise I'd buy it, it's a beautiful phone and the size I'm looking for.
Daniel, 12 Jul 2013Wow, Very Nice Phone but I think the Camera should be upgraded like that of Nokia Lumia 1020. ... moreYes you are correct. It must be at least within the current trend which is 13MP. But don't be mistaken with the high pixel count of the camera. The PIXEL COUNT denotes the size of the IMAGE but it doesn't imply that the IMAGE is brilliant, clear, accurate or whatsoever. The advantage maybe is that if you expand the image it will not be pixelated and blurred that's all. The QUALITY of an image maybe defined by the SENSOR and the IMAGE processor a company is using. The PIXEL count is just an EXTRA..... Again I am also unhappy like you with the 8MP of Xperia Ultra 'coz it is out of trend currently in the market.
Look, people are eluded by the pixel count of LUMIA's. I would rather advice you to check the following for the upcomming Nokia's flagship Lumia 1020:
1) Thickness- 10.4mm > 6.5mm for Xperia ZU (a littles less than double the thickness of ZU)
2) 332ppi < 342ppi for Xperia ZU (highest for Phablet category).
3) 100Mbps DL < 150Mbps for Xperia ZU (Downloading speed)
4) 41MP Camera > 8MP for Xperia ZU (back to my above comments)
5) firstname.lastname@example.orgGHz Processor < email@example.comGHz for Xperia ZU (imagine the processing speed)
6) Outdated Adreno 225 Graphics < Adreno 330 for Xperia ZU (Let say for Gaming its OK for Nokia coz their games are not heavy as Play Stations games)
7) Battery 2000mAh< 3000mAh (but I do agree that still small for a Phablet category)
Flash - I cannot remember the last time I used a flash on one of my smartphones, I do find it strange when people moan that there is no flash. Even in low light conditions it is better to use no flash, because with the flash on I find that pictures do not look natural. Removable battery - never had to remove mine, especially on my nokia n900 which I have had for 4 years, so yet again why do people moan about it. Come on, I would like to know everybody's strange reasons for using a flash or having a removal battery. Over to you.
