Tcool, 04 Jul 2013What is the use of water and dust proof if it will always be confined inside your bag? I do... moreWell, I ruined my phone (not a Sony) while I was riding my motorcycle and heavy rain caught up with me... so I'm thinking about water proof phone now...
Looks like a wonderful phone, the videos show good screen, fast response. Just one question: how is this going to fit into my pocket? Am I supposed to buy a man purse for it or what?

Samsung is one of the leaders in OLED display research and the clear leader in AMOLED production.
OLED Displays are thinner, more efficient and offer better picture quality than LCD or Plasma displays.
Samsung Display is the number one producer of AMOLED panels (they make over 90% of AMOLED panels worldwide)
Samsung is investing a lot of money in AMOLED capacity. 2012 investment alone was around $6 billion. This is more money than Sony has even seen for over 5 years.
Sony = copy.paste
Samsung = Best quality, most profitable, most popular, biggest future…… Bye Bye Sony ....

December 2011, Sony agreed to sell all stake in an LCD joint venture with Samsung Electronics for about $940 million.
In September 2000 Sony had a market capitalization of $100 billion; but by December 2011 it had plunged to $18 billion, reflecting falling prospects for Sony

Sony, whose television business has lost money for nine straight years, has not made any OLED televisions since its debut effort six years ago.
Samsung Electronics has begun selling large CURVED televisions using next generation display technology.
Samsung is the world's biggest TV maker by shipments with nearly a third of the global market, aims to maintain its leading position
octa core is two two separate processors. one is a 1.6ghz quad core and the other 1.2ghz
the 1.6ghz handles heavier tasks and the 1.2ghz handles lighter tasks. they dont work at the same time.
It's still very hard to believe but Sony have only been making smartphones for the last 18 months, yet they have excelled far more than anyone could have imagined. Now the Z Ultra and the rumoured Honami are going to take the market by storm. By the way I have used virtually every manufacturer not just one. I've had phones from Nokia, LG, Sony Erricson, and Motorola so I am no fanboy and I have no allegiance to anyone manufacturer but I've been following Sony very closely and I have to say they have been the most impressive and innovative of all the manufacturers. LG I believe are very close behind them because they are also churning out quality products, not giving the market a load of rubbish like Samsung are.
Rufuss, 04 Jul 2013Don’t you mean that Nokia and Motorola are using Amoled screens because they know Amoled is th... moreRufuss, you certainly need to do some proper research, Samsung have the worst TV's on record, a higher proportion of their TV's are sent back within a year compared to any other manufacturer, also the technology they use is second rate compared to Sony, I know I read about TV's all the time, Sony are second only to Panasonic and that's only because Panasonic's Plasma TV's have been selling so well, an area incidentally that Sony left some time back. I have a 40" 720p TV and the picture quality is excellent. There are only 3 manufacturers that I would rate and those are Panasonic, Sony and LG.

Tcool, 04 Jul 2013Ok granted. Why do you need dust proof, you live in the dessert? Or along the road? LOL!A lot of people have small kids who run around and break and spill stuff so they need resistant phones. Some people like being outdoors too. Some people walk instead of driving and sometimes it rains or snows. All phones should be water and dust resistant just in case, you never know.
Tcool, 04 Jul 2013What is the use of water and dust proof if it will always be confined inside your bag? I do... moreLol, perhaps, since this IP58 is just a marketing tricks from Sony like Samsung's Air-gestures and HTC's ultra-pixel, but watching my friend washing his XZ is kinda cool to me, tot I still hate having flap cover for the usb port and head-phone jack of the phone which is annoying
