HVS, 05 May 2014Excited to get 4.4 on the ZR. :)
Come fast.Me too...
But dude don't install it on the first day of release itself.
It may be the last major update for the first gen Z series and it may be full of bugs like the one on the z1. Wait for a few days and read the user comments and then install. Just to be safe :)

it's passed both test (low jet water & 1.5m under fresh water)
so it's both IP55 & IP58
this the link
AnonD-65313, 05 May 2014Its ip 55 for dust and ip 58 for water. even xperia z is ip 55 for dust and ip 57 for water.
... moreIt's IP58. The first digit 5(IP5X) stands for dust resistance and the second digit 8(IPX8) stands for water resistance.
Check Wikipedia for ip ratings.
Bitw, 01 May 2014Its because of the screen protector !huh?.. what the hell is the screen protector got to do with the phone's water resistance?..
AnonD-155192, 05 May 2014visit www.sonymobile.com and search sony xperia zrIt means it is both IP55 as well as IP58 cuz when it's second digit stands for water resistance, it surely means it's above the smaller digit. In case of Xperia z, it's IP57 and can bear only slight amount of water but ZR being able to bear a large amount of water (even as shown in it's advertisement of filming underwater in fullHD) is obviously IP55 and IP57 certified for it to be IP58.
AnonD-155192, 05 May 2014visit www.sonymobile.com and search sony xperia zrIts ip 55 for dust and ip 58 for water. even xperia z is ip 55 for dust and ip 57 for water.
It is better in terms of water resistant.
AnonD-155192, 05 May 2014how do u saying .its ip58Could you post the link where it started ip55??
Cause on all Sony and gadgets websites, it's stated ip58. Even in its commercial it is ip58. You cannot immerse an ip55 certified phone inside water.
please help me I want to buy sony xperia zr but i am not sure it is good or not tell me if it was good or bad . thanks
hi i am santos....whether SONY xperia zr's dust and waterproofs are ip55 or ip58.......THIS IS MY DOUBT ....gsm arena mentioned that SONY xperia zr is ip58 ....and other sony websites are mentioning that ip55 or ip58 [that means both are available]
now i tell u that differences between ip55 and ip58
(i) protected against low pressure jets of water from all practicable directions in compliance with IP 55
(ii) can be kept under 1.50 metre of freshwater for up to 30 minutes in compliance with IP 58.
SO PLEASE SAY THAT SONY XPERIA ZR IS IP55 OR IP58

My stamina mode is always on, and if it goes below 25%, the low battery mode will kick in.
In stamina mode, it won't work while the phone is active, so it won't affect your performance.
