Where is the Kitkat update to India? Died on the way or what? Just so ridiculous of Sony in bringing updates whereas other competitors are happily using it

AnonD-42316, 29 May 2014yes u r right, but u can also see the new trend is non removable battery, so its better to ado... moreNope its not the trend... Apple, htc only use non-removable batteries for most of the phones... In Sony there are options. For example z2 with non-removable and zl2 with removable(I guess) and sumsung, all phones have removable battery..
AnonD-268444, 29 May 2014but there is no battery replacement on z1 compact instead of zr yes u r right, but u can also see the new trend is non removable battery, so its better to adopt the changes as it is going!!

AnonD-159403, 28 May 2014What do you mean? I just have to root my phone to move apps to SD coz lack of internal memory.... moreFor apps to SD, you have to root the phone, but there is no direct method to root your phone(Xperia z/ZR/ZL) if you updated it to 4.3 or 4.4. You have to unlock the bootloader.
But unlocking the bootloader has a lot of disadvantages. You'll loose drm keys, Bravia, gracenote, track id, updates, etc.
So you can root your phone by downgrading it to android 4.1 or 4.2 and root it by doomslord method or vroot method and then installing a prerooted android 4.3 or 4.4 stock rom on your Xperia.
In that way, your phone would be rooted and also your bootloader would be locked :)
AnonD-152830, 28 May 2014Even if you update your phone to 4.4, you have to unlock the bootloader to root it or manually... moreWhat do you mean? I just have to root my phone to move apps to SD coz lack of internal memory. SO why bootloader. Can you explain the process?
