awesome handset ...i dont use ny mobile more then 15 -20 days..but i liked this mobile very very much ..n i hope i will use it till long time ..woww..m enjoying android market ..its amazing.

Hi friends I recently bought a 2nd hand example of the G1. The previous owner had uprated. When i turn on my phone, the only thing that appears on the screen is HERO. Can u help me please?

Hi friends
I recently bought a 2nd hand example of the G1 via e.bay. The previous owner had uprated. The O.S. to Android 2.1. This worked but slowed the phone down. It eventually went. Into a reboot loop which rendered the handset useless. I did a Factory reset wiped out the dialler! Eventually I had it reflashed to Android.1 updated now to 1.6. By and large, I am quite impressed with what is now rather an old phone. My other phone is the Nokia N900 and I find it in many ways quite similar to the G1
My criticisms of the phone are the usual ones - battery life and lack of phone memory. It could also do with some more ram! However, if you are looking for a good phone with a physical keyboard, that can handle lots of applications, then the G1 could be the one for you. Currently, you can get used ones for £100-150.

do u guys have problem in texting through qwerty keyboard because after screen is put up and when u start typing with ur right hand it kinda gets blockd from the end,menu,track ball place so is it uncomfortable.and how is the touch screen is it like apple iphone.i was going to buy it..??????PLZ REPLY

The phone is amazing, it is like a mini computer!!! G1 is probably the best phone for very low price. When you "jailbreak" it.. this phone is unstoppable. ;)

Considering the fact that G1 is the first android phone ever built, i believe that you guys have mistreated the G1.
You should first root your device and change your ROM if you are having problems. Android does not kill apps so use taskiller or other app killers to free up your memory. I have Cynanogen 6 (Android 2.2) Running silk smooth on my G1 with Sygic Mobile Maps and lots n lots of amazing apps and games. I am keeping my G1 till the day it dies on me. And it's been 2 years now, and it survived and still runs like new.

nikki, 29 Jun 2010I've had my g1 for a cple of months and have had nothing but problems!!!!! it shuts itself off... moreall i can say is that i've had this phone for 8 months and i completely love it. android 1,1.5.1.6, cyan 4, cyan5.. this phone has evolved to be the best. no major problems yet.. guess you just havent figured out the potential yet
