I don't think I will ever get my mytouch 4g updated in Nigeria - ever. Why? Cause T-Mobile store is rooted in Nigeria. And OTA isn't available, too, from the official website. Any help of how to go about it. Would be indebted to whosoever help out.
i just got that gingerbread update for the mytouch4g and is not a big deal... almost the same crap.. it doesnt change the menus or the look of the ui or anything... the only thing it did was to make the space bar on ur keyboard way smaller... other than that is the same... so dont get so worked up about getting the update cause is not a big deal..

I just got this phone. It is used in UK and now unlocked here in Sri lanka. How can I get Android 2.3.3 updated to this phone. Is there any stand alone installer which I can downlaod and use.
you so right i have the samsung galaxy s2 ,i have nokia n900 and sony ericsson xperia play . so far im loving the samsung galaxy s2 all i wanted T-Mobile to do is upgrade the my touch 4g to gingerbread .i got a mytouch 4g for my wife ,got some for my brothers and one for my friend so i supported t-mobile so t-mobile give us an upgrade to gingerbread is that too much to ask
hey jason, the samsung galaxy s2 does not work with the t-mobile 3g or 4g network because it doesn't run on the 1700/2100 band. i know this because i just got one and now i have to resell it.
people should stop complaining about the mytouch 4g not getting the gingerbread update soon enough. very few high end smartphones that dont release with gingerbread have the update available. deal with it.
i'm so mad @ t-mobile right now .i still have no no no update to gingerbead .thats it i'm going to buy a samsung galaxy 2 phone and stay unlock

This phone does NOT support 900 band UMTS! I found this out the hard way; I am sitting with Edge speeds in my country.
