Motorola unveiled the Moto E40 yesterday without any launch details. This was corrected today as the company officially announced that the phone will launch on India’s Flipkart on October 12 (Tuesday).
Pricing is still TBA, but we can take a guess. The Moto G10 Power launched at INR 13,000, but is currently INR 10,500 on Flipkart. That converts to $170 and $140 or so. The two phones are similar, though the G10 Power has an extra camera (8 MP ultra wide) and a larger battery (6,000 mAh) with faster charging (20W).
The Moto E40 does stand out with a 90 Hz refresh rate on its display, a 6.5” IPS LCD with 720p+ resolution. The phone is powered by the Unisoc T700 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage. It has a triple card slot that can hold two SIMs and a microSD (up to 1 TB).
Around the back is the 48 MP main camera and fingerprint reader. There’s also a dedicated Google Assistant key on the side. We mentioned that the battery is smaller, but its small only compared to the G10 Power – the 5,000 mAh power pack promises 40 hours of mixed usage or in individual tasks up to 14 hours of watching videos or up to 10 hours of web browsing.
The Moto E40 will be available in Pink Clay and Carbon Gray. Fans in India can expect it next week. Meanwhile, the Motorola Tab G20 is on pre-order on Flipkart (at INR 10,000) and will be available on October 20.
That's what happens when you buy a company, just to have a name brand under your portfolio. Lenovo still can't figure out what made Motorola what it was.
Even the lowest end phones have high refresh rate but not iPhone 13 LOL
