Nokia Android Rumors

The Nokia 9 PureView was unveiled in early 2019 with with a 2018 Snapdragon chipset. A leakster claims that HMD is trying to avoid a repeat of this situation, but that unfortunately means that the announcement of the Nokia 9.2 has been pushed back to the autumn season.

That’s right 9.2, even though there’s no 9.1. That’s likely just to keep the name of the new flagship in line with the rest of the Nokia lineup. Originally, the Nokia 9.1 was set to be unveiled in Q4 last year (or earlier), then it was pushed back to Q2 this year and now it has been delayed again. At least that’s what various rumors claim, HMD never said anything official.

The rumored specs included a Snapdragon 855 chipset, which is already old news. There was also talk of using the S855+ on the 5G version of the phone. Now it looks like there will be only one phone – the Nokia 9.2 with Snapdragon 865 and 5G connectivity.

The next Nokia flagship may have been delayed to switch to a Snapdragon 865 chip

HMD officially announced plans to release a 5G mid-ranger powered by the Snapdragon 765 chipset. The teaser image seems to show a triple camera on the back of this phone, so no complicated Light camera setup (which may be another cause for the delays in the development of the flagship model).

However, the company remains mum on the subject of future flagships. For what it’s worth, this leakster, Nokia Anew, correctly called that the Nokia 9 PureView will be unveiled at the MWC (original rumors claimed a January launch).
