Samsung Bada Touch UI

Back in June, we heard about two new Wave phones, which targeted the mid range. It has been quiet in that bay, but finally the Waves are rolling in - and there are three of them this time around. We see the Wave575 for the first time.

Samsung S5250 Wave525

The other two Waves are Samsung S5250 Wave525 and Samsung S5330 Wave533 that were previously announced as Samsung Wave2 and Wave2 Pro.

The three Bada smartphones all share a 3.2" WQVGA screen, 100MB internal memory expandable with microSD cards up to 16GB. Their cameras are 3.2MP snappers and the music players boast SoundAlive equalizers.

They differ on other specs - the S5330 Wave533 has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, while the other two are bars. The Wave525 is limited to EDGE connectivity (as is the Wave533), while the Wave575 adds 3G with HSDPA to the mix.

Samsung S5750 Wave575

The three Waves however have Wi-Fi b/g/n connectivity, also Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, multi-touch screens and the latest TouchWiz 3.0 UI and Dolfin 2.0 browser and of course, access to the Samsung Apps application store. Bada OS has a nifty Social Hub for some SNS action, but the Samsung Wave575 also adds push notifications for email, IM and SNS.

Samsung S5330 Wave533

The Samsung Wave525 and Wave575 have a 11.9mm thin waist and weigh 100 grams, while the Wave533 with its QWERTY grows to 15.5mm thickness and 118 grams of weight.

The Samsung S5250 Wave525 is already out in Russia and the QWERTY-packing Samsung S5330 Wave533 will come out in late October. Their availability will gradually expand to other markets. The Samsung S5750 Wave575 will hit Sweden in mid-November and expand to Europe, Southeast Asia and China from there.

By the way, another Wave - the Samsung Wave 723 is also coming soon - and the Wave533 should cost around 239 euro in Europe.

i am workign for an app dev company, and you have to trust me Bada OS is released prematurely :( We tried putting some people for Bada apps, but after some trials we discontinued it. I can give you an example how bada is tough for developers...

Samsung should first fix problems with Samsung Wave S8500 and Kies before launching new phones using the Bada OS
