The Toshiba TG02 is in no mood to experiment and follows a time-tested recipe. The TG02 comes to succeed one of the most interesting devices last year's MWC brought to light. Toshiba have just unveiled the successor of their TG01 ultra thin PocketPC. And if you think the TG01 and the TG02 are too thin to be true, we wonder how the QWERTY enabled K01 will make you feel.
The TG02 is on the same kind of diet as the TG01. The newcomer TG02 measures 126 x 66 x 9.9 mm and the size of the TG01 is 129 x 70 x 9.9 mm. But something else has changed. The screen still measures the massive 4.1 inches and has the same WVGA resolution but it's now capacitive! The other features seem to have remained intact.
A leaked roadmap we told you about a few months ago, claimed the TG02 was to be splash resistant. Unfortunately, there is still nothing official on that.
When it comes to the other new Toshiba device, there are lots of questions waiting for an answer. What we can tell you about the Toshiba K01 at this point is it packs a side-slide QWERTY keyboard and a 4.1" AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of WVGA resolution. Its design has been redone since we last saw it but - what's more important - size is now different as well. The K01 was said to be 15mm thin but it actually is even slimmer - only 12.9mm. How about that?
Sadly, there is still no word on the pricing and availability of either handset.
this can't be true. this is FAKE. Toshiba can't be using a commercial app on their phone. TG02 is using Spb SHell 3.5!!!! this is insane. can't be true.
With those buttons it looks like its gonna be released with Windows Mobile 7 so I guess they're not gonna be in the shops for a while yet
