TrendForce published on Wednesday its predictions that smartphones will have 3.2 GB RAM on average by the end of 2017. This is an increase by 33.4% over 2016's 2.4 GB average memory capacity. The analysts also predicted that the 10th anniversary iPhone, also known as iPhone 8, will have no more than 3 GB RAM and fans of the Apple smartphone shouldn't expect a 4GB RAM device before 2018.
TrendForce expects the 5.8” AMOLED iPhone and the 5.5” LCD iPhone to have 3 GB RAM, while a smaller 4.7” LCD model to stay with 2 GB RAM.
On the other hand, Android makers increased the RAM mainly because of consumer demand. The growth of average memory content has been higher than tablets and computers because the “the operating system [...] becomes sluggish after a period of usage,” said analyst Avril Wu.
Being biased is unhealthy you know. Not including Samsung rats? Tsk tsk. Actually next to apple fans are the Samsung rats who's throwing and spreading hate on either apple, windows phone, sony or china phones articles.
there are no point of a 4GB RAMed SOC as standards are 2to the power32(2GB/for 32 bit) or 2to the power64(Hexabytes/for 64 bit)
We used to say 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage is enough lol
