Sony Android Rumors

Sony brought some much-needed refreshes to its 2019 portfolio with the updated Xperia line, most notably the new 21:9 aspect ratio displays and it seems 2020 will bring even more refinements to the Xperia phones including a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera. A newly published patent on the WIPO Global Design Database from Sony showcases the user interface of an upcoming device as well as its screen which sports minimal top bezels.

Taking a closer look we see the screenshot is showing the multi-window functionality but more interestingly both top corners are utilized to display info with the time on the left and the battery status on the right-hand-side. This suggests Sony could employ a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera similar to the Note10 series and the new Galaxy A51 and A71. The folks over at LetsGoDigital managed to recreate a render of the device complete with the selfie camera cutout which gives us a better look at what we can expect.

Apart from this, we don’t have much to work with as of now. We recently saw a Geekbench run for the upcoming Xperia 3, which was rocking the Snapdragon 865 paired with 12 GB RAM. In addition, the device is believed to come with 5G connectivity as well as six cameras on its back and a QHD screen.

Last year Sony released its Xperia 1 alongside the Xperia 10 and 10 plus during MWC so we could very well see the new Xperia lineup at the 2020 show at the end of February.

Can you see the latest leaks show Xperia doesn't come with punchole or notch. Why you still can't get it? They don't block you view, but most of the other OEM love to block (downgrade) your view experience!!
