Verizon Sprint T-Mobile AT&T

Research firm Strategy Analytics released the third quarter results of the earning results for US wireless carriers. Fierce Wireless made it easier for us to follow what went on this quarter by breaking down the results.

The data does not include MVNO's or carriers that resell service lines. Tracfone's third quarter results can be seen here.

The carrier with the most net additions was T-Mobile with 1.97 million net new subscribers. Sprint was the least performing of the four major US carriers with net adds of 0.753 million subscribers. Verizon has added 1.125 million subscribers this quarter, while AT&T had the second-most new subscribers this quarter at 1.532 million adds.

Subscriber count shows that Verizon is still the largest US carrier by number of subscribers with a total of 143,876,000 subscribers. AT&T is not too far behind with 133,338,000 subscribers and a steady #2 position. T-Mobile has come a long way since it began the Un-Carrier movement in the #3 spot with 65,354,000 subscribers and Sprint is not far behind with 59,199,000 subscribers.

While Verizon remains comfortably at the top, AT&T had more net add-ons this quarter than Verizon did, ever so slightly creeping toward that #1 spot.
