The vivo S17 series will be officially unveiled on May 31, and we expect the vanilla vivo S17 and vivo S17 Pro to make an appearance. The mightier option is expected to have a Dimensity 8200 chipset, but the basic version is likely to have a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, according to a listing on Geekbench.
The vivo V2283A device, said to be the vivo S17, was listed with “lahaina” chipset, and while this is the codename of the Snapdragon 888 series, we can confirm it is actually the 778G+ due to the different CPU combo, as well as the GPU being Adreno 642L. The listing also revealed the vanilla version of the upcoming midrangers will have a 12 GB RAM option and will ship with Android 13 out of the box.
In the meantime, the official Weibo page of vivo posted some details on the vivo S17 Pro camera, revealing it will have an LED flash that can be programmed to light up at different temperatures, and there will be two front-facing flashes as well, embedded in the top bezel.
The front-facing camera will have a 50 MP sensor, while the portrait shooter on the back will be an actual usable camera with 2x telephoto zoom. There will also be a “super-sensing spectral sensor” that should allow for better color rendition, but vivo did not reveal details on this technology. We will know more in two days at the launch.

I'd rather use an older chip that produced by TSMC rather than a newer chip that produced by Samsung foundry.
