vivo has announced a stylish new mid-ranger, dubbed vivo S5.
The vivo S5 is powered by the Snapdragon 712 SoC that's coupled with 8GB RAM. It boots Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.2 and comes in two storage options - 128GB and 256GB.
The S5 is built around a 6.44" 20:9 Super AMOLED display that promises a screen-to-body ratio of 91.38%. The display boasts a 2400x1080 pixel resolution and has a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric security.
The screen also has a punch hole in the upper-right corner for the 32MP selfie camera.
Moving on to the back, we get quad cameras arranged in a unique diamond formation. The setup is a combination of a 48MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP depth, and 2MP macro units.
The cameras on the S5 come with a super beauty algorithm and a poster correction feature which includes 144 poses to help you pose better in front of the camera.
The vivo S5 is offered in Icelandic Blue, Phantom Blue and Star Black colors, and packs a 4,100 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.
The S5 is priced at CNY2,698 ($385/€350) for the 8GB/128GB variant and you get double storage for CNY300 ($42/€40) more.
The smartphone will go on sale in China from November 22, but availability in other markets is currently unknown.
It's very pricey, considering other phones like Realme XT, Realme 5 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Vivo Z1x etc, which are priced much lower, ranging from Rs. 13000- Rs. 19000 ($185 - $ 260). Specs are more or less the same and they are seemingly not worse.
It is true, but if you compare the chin on this phone with the chin on the iPhone you realize that they are the same size, or the chin on vivo is actually smaller. iPhone has the same bezel on all sides but they are huge compared to most flagship and...
Funny how the note 10+ has the smallest chin but no one will talk about that. I have the 11 pro max and the note 10+ and I have measured them both
