vivo Android Rumors

vivo is expected to bring not one but two book-style foldables by the end of Q1 2024. According to Digital Chat Station, there will be an X Fold3 and an X Fold3 Pro, and both devices have been certified by Chinese authorities.

The leakster claimed the new duo will bring several improvements over the X Fold2, including upgraded screen resolution, a bigger battery, 50 MP sensors for all cameras, and a lightweight body.

Having a mightier variant of a smartphone is a tactic widely used in the traditional smartphone scene but very rare in the world of foldables. The poster revealed X Fold3 Pro will have a periscope lens for the telephoto camera, 50W wireless charging, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The latter two features are not new - they were part of the X Fold and X Fold2. It appears that vivo might offer the X Fold3 with some features removed for a lower price, while the X Fold3 Pro will be the true successor of the X Fold2.

On one hand, having different options is good for consumers, but on the other, it won't matter too much if vivo decides to keep selling its foldables only in China.
