khushi, 23 Jan 2016in vivo v1, can we use two sim card along with sd card? does this phone have separate slot for... moreYes it does have a separate card slot. Look at the top of the hanset!
Hi All
Just wanted to help someone who is going to thinking as an option. I have been using this since the last 3 months and i wanted to do this now as assessing a phone makes sense after you have used the same for a while.
Pros.
1. Battery is 2300 mAH (Li-Po) but does an equivalent or better job than a 3120 mAH Li-Ion) battery, on a continuous 3G network I easily get 6-8 hours of back up and that to after making almost 60-70 calls (as I am in a sales role). Guys keep the back-lit at automatic and keep removing those unnecessary apps running on the background. Also please charge the phone once to 100% in the morning and only plug it back once it is about to die. do not keep charging any handset again and again as that is the major reason how people destroy the battery life.
2. Touch-Response: Great and equivalent to i-Phone (no more words here)
3. System: Powered with a 2 gb RAM, no hanging at all and functions really smooth. Does heat up a bit but that to due to heavy back to back calling along with Wi-fi or 3G.
I am not a gamer but play subway surfers at times, I will give 4.5 out 5 to the response and yes no heating here as well
4. Camera: I am taken to Photography so at times if I am not carrying my camera, The phone steps into the role and I have had some amazing fun with the 13 PM camera with some really cool inbuilt filters. Videos come out very nice and crisp thanks to the 1080 p recording facility.
5. Memory: love the 16 GB inbuilt and 128 GB expandable power. This shows a shoe sole to those big brands.
6. Multitasking: Is smooth and convenient, yes the operations are a bit different than other android devices but once you get used to it, its actually fun.
7. Music: Sound clarity is just amazing and supports most of the versions
8: Call quality: Is nice and clear
Cons:
1. Loudspeaker: Needs to be better
2. System: Crashes once a while
3. Body: Slim and slippery
4. Smart wake: needs upgrades
5. Browser: Chrome does not show multiple tabs and is difficult to manage.
Over all feel:
Great phone in the given price range, Cased in a slim and metal body gives a classy feel to the device. Well designed and power packed with great features. For people giving negative remarks have not used the phone to its potential or have not understood it properly.
Cheers
Vivo 1 Battery is very poor, Just bought it recently I have to charge it twice a day, If i keep my internet on and use it. Vivo Company should come up with some ideas for this poor battery, and the company should replace the battery of all the sold Vivo 1 if he wants to conquer the mobile market india.
Here is my take on Vivo after using their X5Max & V1 smartphones:
1) You should only buy a vivo if you are a music aficionado. You love high quality music that comes is huge uncompressed FLAC files & compressed 320 kbps MP3. Then also you should better stay away from V1 as it does not support FLAC files. Better buy the best music phone in the world X5Max which supports all audio file formats known to man.
2) I can find in many posts people complain about the absurdly high price of Vivo handsets over their other Chinese competitors in India. But there is a marketing logic behind it. You see in order to sustain and survive in the cut throat competition in mobile market, as a company you can market your products in two ways, online or offline. Either you gun for maximum market share on the very entry by delivering a quality product to the end customer at minimum profit margin and taking help from a reputed and established online sales channel like Flipkart or Amazon. Here there are no middle man like distributors and dealers to compound their profits and increase the final selling price. The truth is with the online retail boom in India we are now habituated in receiving smartphones as a direct sale from the company at absurdly low price. Leneovo, Xiaomi & Letv to name a few follow this direct sales path and are successful.
The other way is not to give too much importance to online business and better focus on offline business by creating an offline sales channel infrastructure which initially costs a lot on money to the manufacturers. Frankly in India with only a minority of the population having access to the internet, the offline business through distributors and dealers offer a much higher potential of market share on a long run than online. Samsung, LG, HTC to name a few follow this path and so does Vivo. Vivo does offer their mobile phones at a very competitive price to their distributors rather than us, so compounding the profit margin made by distributors and dealers we end up with Vivo phones at almost twice the price of an online purchase. Take the example of much superior Lenovo K4 Note selling online at almost half the price of Vivo V1Max which is selling offline. We know the performance difference between these two models and we will always curse Vivo and always go for Lenovo or a LeTv. But what about those people who have no access to internet? They will end up buying a vivo. Also because the high profit margin provided by vivo to their dealers, they will take extra effort to convince and sell vivo products to the offline end customers.
In short run, you will find Letv to have over 2 lakh registrations of their Le 1s model on the initial two days only over flipkart, while vivo have only sold slightly over 3 lakh phones in India in their first seven months with all models combined. But 5 years down the line just like Samsung or LG, they will be more well known than Letv in India and sell more phones just like Samsung & LG. So as a company it is about either attaining short term success or a long term success. Mind you as a manufacturer you can be successful in both ways.
I as an end customers and in having access to internet, will better avoid vivo phones and gun for other options from Lenovo or LeTv if music is not my priority. Saying that an LeTv Le1s will have equal sound quality of a V1Max at a much lower price.
3) Till now their no smartphone in the world that can rival X5Max in terms of sound quality and headphone volume output except for Meizu MX5 Pro and Lenovo Vibe X3.

mobile is good. but back color quality is very bad.
I am using vivo v1 for past six months, honestly saying vivo is a good phone working fine without any hangging and heating issues. But still price tags are high compared to other brands with same specifications.
