There used... moreThere is still a difference, not in the actual electronics but in the accessory parts - the exterior assembly, the quality of radios used etc. I have looked at Xiaomi and it feels like a value product. It doesn't feel BAD, mind you, but it sure doesn't give me the feel of a "properly built" product. There are other issues like the quality and type of joints used inside the assembly, etc. - mind you, none of this actually affects using the phone. You'd need to be an engineering nut and start smashing things with hammers to actually see this difference....so for the average guy, I doubt there is a serious difference in quality. Engineering-wise, however....

Not necessarily sa... moreFor the price Vivo V3Max retails for, I can think of a number of good smartphones that do better with both OS, RAM management and Camera. Hi-Fi audio isn't really such a big deal as people think....in fact 24-bit/96 kHz is standard on a number of SoCs out-of-the-box already (the separate chips and amps are to increase isolation and reduce noise....nothing a good engineer cannot bypass anyway).
There's the Galaxy A8, Xperia C5/M4/M5, LG G4, G Flex2, a number of HTCs starting from Desire 828 to the One ME, Asus ZenFone2, Moto X series etc. each of them delivers a better experience than what Vivo does. That being said, Oppo and Vivo have VERY good products in sub-20K range (Oppo F1/R9 is pretty good, Vivo X3 Max also comes to mind).
But if I think Chinese, I only think of Gionee.

I do not agree that "iPhone 8 MP beats 21 and 23 MP of these brands". It is very subjective, because I've seen HTC, LG and Sony phones do better than Apple camera-wise. The chinese brands, well, some of them do really well (Gionee comes to mind), some do really badly, but its not because of the hardware, it's poor software coding (especially image processing and JPEG engine). I still wouldn't buy any Chinese brand over a known one, because you do get what you pay for....but it's up to the consumer, really.
RishiGuru, 08 May 2016Pathetic isn't it. Well if you want a Vivo be prepared to get stuck forever with the Android v... moreIt's because these Chinese brands use contract developers to heavily skin/modify the Android OS and rebrand it as ColorOS/EmotionUI/whatever....and then, it takes money and time to make these changes for a new version of Android. Moreover, it's easier to deliver one version of Android as no R&D team needs to be maintained and no developers need to be put on the payroll (especially for modules like camera drivers etc.) - how do you think these companies are selling phones so cheap?

Not necessarily saying that Vivo are up there with the iPhones & Galaxy's but it has certainly made its mark in the mid range class. To summarize it, you won't be disappointed with the V3 Max. Sure it does not tick every box, with it's outdated Android System and mediocre camera but for it's price point, like I say, I am not disappointed.

funwithash, 08 May 2016Motorola is owned by Chinese company Lenovo hahahahahaha Yes I know actually everyone knows, but I think you don't know Motorola have it's own R&D department and Lenovo itself fails to produce good Smartphone and finally gave it's Mobile segment to Motorola for supervision. And Lenovo will concentrate in it's Laptop and Tablet segment.Firstly grab the right and complete information before committing to other.
dont buy, 07 May 2016vivo phones dont get any andoird updates .waste of moneyPathetic isn't it. Well if you want a Vivo be prepared to get stuck forever with the Android version it will come with. Further you will never ever receive any Android version upgrades even if you buy their flagship phone. I am victim of this.
Pathetic software upgrade policy to say the least.

Great phone. Very fast processor. No lag whatsoever handling this phone in the 1 week I've been using this. Good camera and also easy user interface all round. However, battery could've been improved but the presence of fast charging (phone charged around 40 more % in 20 mins) outweighs it.
