The X60 family form vivo already boasts six members (three of which are China exclusive) and now Chinese users get a new curved screen edition of the vanilla X60. The device was introduced in China earlier today and as the name implies the only major difference compared to the vanilla X60 here is that the screen bends on both sides.
The panel comes in at 6.56-inches and is of the AMOLED variety with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Exynos 1080 chipset sits at the helm while the battery comes in at 4,300 mAh battery and sports 33W fast charging. There’s a triple camera setup on board with a 48MP main sensor with OIS and vivo’s gimbal stabilization alongside a 13MP telephoto snapper and 13 MP ultrawide module. The software front is covered by OriginOS 10 with Android 11 on top.
The vivo X60 curved screen edition is available in Midnight Black, Shimmer Blue and Shimmer White colors. Pricing starts at CNY 3,499 ($543) for the 8/128GB model and goes up to CNY 3,999 ($621) for the top of the line 12/256GB trim. Open sales in China begin are already underway while international availability was not detailed yet.
We also need to get rid of the front camera hole. No need for it in 2021.
My hope is that curved screens will disappear from industry as curved screens are useless and distractive. However I would be interested to see what percentage of customers opt for the curved screen if they have the choice.
