vivo Android Announcement

vivo launched the Y12s last year, and today, the company followed it up with a new version called vivo Y12s 2021. The two are largely identical with a few minor differences.

For starters, last year's Y12s has a Helio P35 SoC at the helm, whereas the Y12s 2021 is powered by the Snapdragon 439 chip. Besides, the Y12s 2021 runs Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 out of the box instead of Android 10 and comes in a single memory configuration - 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. It still has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The rest of the features remain the same on Y12s 2021, meaning you get a 6.51" HD+ LCD, 8MP selfie camera, and a dual camera setup on the back comprising 13MP primary and 2MP depth units.

The smartphone sports a side-mounted fingerprint reader and ships with a 5,000 mAh battery that draws power through a microUSB port at up to 10W while also supporting reverse wired charging at up to 5W.

The vivo Y12s 2021 has two color options - Mysterious Black and Ice Blue. It's up for purchase in Vietnam through online retailer FPTShop for VND3,290,000 ($140/€115), but its availability in other markets remains unknown.
