vivo Y71t unveiled: a V21e with a Dimensity 810 chipset

vivo Android Announcement

vivo unveiled the T1 and T1x yesterday, the “x” model featured a 120 Hz LCD, Dimensity 900 chipset and 64 MP camera. Today comes the vivo Y71t, which offers some similar features at a slightly higher price. It’s hard to say which one is better, they optimize for different things.

For starters, the vivo Y71t is more compact and has a 6.44” AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,400 px resolution (20:9). It only runs at 60 Hz, though. Still, you would be looking at a pretty picture with 98% DCI-P3 coverage. The notched camera has a 16 MP sensor, double the resolution of the T1x cam.

The rear camera setup is better too. It has a 64 MP main camera, but adds an 8 MP ultra wide module to the mix (the T1x has only a 2 MP macro camera as its second module).

The vivo Y71t is powered by a Dimensity 810 chipset. Like the Dimensity 900 found inside the T1x, this is a 6 nm chip with 5G support, however, it uses older cores – 4x Cortex-A76 (vs. 2x A78) and Mali-G57 MC2 (vs. Mali-G68 MC4) – so you can expect lower performance.

Actually, the Y71t is essentially the same phone as the vivo V21e 5G, except that one uses the weaker Dimensity 700 chipset. The V21e has a 32 MP selfie camera, so it has its siblings beat on that front.

Back to the Y71t. The base model comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage (UFS 2.1) and there is an option for 256 GB storage. Note that while the RAM is fixed at 8 GB, OriginOS 1.0 can add 4 GB of virtual RAM to the mix.

The phone has a 4,000 mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. 70% charge can be achieved in half an hour. vivo designed this phone to be thin and light, so it only measures 7.67 mm thick and weighs in at 166.3g.

The vivo Y71t will be available in China next month starting at a price of CNY 1,800 ($280/€240/₹21,000). The 256 GB storage will set you back CNY 2,000 ($310/€270/₹23,500).

For comparison, the vivo T1x starts at CNY 1,600 (though that is for a 6/128 GB phone), the V21e launched in India at ₹25,000.

YES!! Finally the manufacturers are dropping the annoying depth/macro sensors from the midrangers. I would much prefer having only main+wide than having quadruple cam setup with essentially fake macro/depth sensors. Dual cam setup looks much cleaner ...

If u need compact phones then go to other areas. I'm not critizing compact phones, infact I would fight for comapt phones(mine is decent at 5.8 inch) but this Is meant for that thin and light market type
