vivo Y72 5G announced with Dimensity 700 5G and 5,000 mAh battery

vivo Android Announcement

The newest midrange device in vivo’s portfolio is the Y72 5G. The phone was unveiled in Thailand and pack a compelling spec sheet headlined by MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 5G chipset and a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging.

Upfront, the Y72 5G comes with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch for its 16MP selfie cam. The back holds the 64MP primary camera alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper and 2MP macro cam. There’s also a side mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as the power button.

The Dimensity 700 5G SoC is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. On the software side we have vivo’s Funtouch OS 11.1 on top of Android 11.

The vivo Y72 5G comes in Graphite Black and Dream Glow colors. Retail in Thailand is set at THB 9,999 which round out to $323/€271 and first sales are scheduled for March 31.

Vivo Y72 5G looks good with its Mediatek 5G chipset in the budget segment and has a really good camera as well.

Who are these 'we'? I'll better have a teardrop than a notch, but in general a clear screen is much preferred.

I thought I was the only one who saw that too... The least we wanna see on secondary cameras is a punch hole design to the left, middle or right... Not all these unsightful tear drop bullshit and notches. At best we don't wanna see any cut out...
