This is nice phone.maybe up to 500 mhz cpu.(run fast like my iphone 3gs we have)

Anonymous, 28 Nov 2010just got mine a few days ago. this is my first smart phone so i do not really have anything to... moreHi I got a SAMSUNG PRESTON S5600 gel case for my 845 phone. Camera hole not in right place so just adjusted it. My phone is protected now. Best i cud do considering there is nothing case wise available for the Vodafone 845.

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2010I cant understand why after all the hype this phone has been reduced AGAIN?...shows those comp... moreHi I had same prop. Credit being taken off me once I got this phone. Its android based so apps run in the background. I downloaded APN ON/OFF widget frm the market and problem solved. Switch it on when u goin on web if your not using WIFI, otherwise leave it off. U can still make calls, recieve/send MMS, and use wifi etc.

In Kenya, safaricom just re-branded it, but it is still a Vodafone- Huawei deal. Does this phone support corporate push email like the Nokia E Series?

Zakmwash, 30 Dec 2010Hi guys, i just wanted to know the connection between huawei and vodafone because in kenya thi... morehuawei is a chinese phone manufacturer, they make phones for the networks, for e.g they made the pulse android phone for T-mobile and vf 845 for vodafone and both phones are more or less identical in spec.

Zakmwash, 30 Dec 2010Hi guys, i just wanted to know the connection between huawei and vodafone because in kenya thi... moreHuawei is a chinese company that manufactures various phone models including vodafone VF845 which is also called Huawei VF845 and it is also called "Joy" in some countries.
The relationship between Huawei and Vodafone is that, Vodafone UK contracted Huawei to manufacture the phone model specifically for them and hence the vodafone logo.
Vodafone UK has significant shareholding with Safaricom(K) and therefore Safaricom can sell the phone in Kenya using the same brand name.
At least that is what i think.

The Safaricom version does NOT include the Market app which opens the doors up to all of the cool Android apps, thus the need to root it and install custom ROM. (Not hard at all)I had a completely open phone with Mr Edition Rom running 30 min after I got the unlock code. It is a very good phone with great capabilities. Just for the record, the reason for unlocking and custom ROM is that I travel between Kenya and the U.S.A. regularly and needed the ability to use it here in the U.S. too.
