The upgrade process for Marshmallow is a little cumbersome but all then same the new update is a nice reminder I'll probably not need a new phone for at least 3 years. The phone is top notch.
Not impressed with new SD card options with Marshmallow, had to do lots of fiddling about to move apps to card and still having problems, bit of a backwards move from Android this.

I must apologize. I gave a few bad reviews regarding the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6. I was originally very disappointed with this phone. After about 3 month of frustration I decided to go directly to the customer care and explained my problem with phone. They checked or tested the phone and after a few days, they swoped it and gave me a new one. Since then, it's about two months now, I have'nt had any problems.
I have had the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 for nearly 1.5 years, and it has been a fantastic phone. Perhaps I have just gotten lucky, but all of the negative reviews I read about it are completely different from my experience.
Some of the reviews don't seen to take into account the price. This phone (when new) cost about 25% of comparable big-name handsets. Of course so many people foolishly forget about price because they spread the cost out over a 2 year contract, which is frankly just poor financial practice.
I have dropped this phone more times than I care to admit, but luckily it has not been affected apart from some scratches on the corners.
I use my phone *constantly* - I listen to music and podcasts all day, make many calls and texts, do web searches and watch videos, and in the evening I play games on it. The battery has obviously weakened over time, but it still lasts through my work day until I get home, which I find very impressive given its age, and the very heavy use it gets every day.
Of course there are some minor issues, mainly that the OS has become slow with age, however I think this is because it needs to be wiped and freshly installed (when I get around to it). But I have less trouble then my family and friends, who all have Samsung, Sony, and Motorola phones (costing much more than this phone did!)
All around, I consider this phone to be one of the best purchases I have ever made, of any kind!
I have one of these which I use in France, Asia and Australia. The biggest problem I have had is that i don't think the antenna is very good. Away from cities in Australia, using identical Sims, my wife's iPhone 4 often picked up a good signal whereas I picked up none at all. Otherwise I am pretty happy with this phone.
Phurya, 26 Oct 2016Some comments here make no sense, really... Smart 6 is probably the best Vodafone branded sma... moreNicely put agree with you great phone for the price I bought mine for £90 brand new had no problems with it does everything I need value for money compared with how much you pay for a iPhone or galaxy.
Steve, 18 Aug 2016It's made by Alcatel not ZTE.I thought it was made by zte but OK anyway will it get the 6.0.1 update
I have a Vodafone Ultra 6 using Android 5.1.1. Does anyone know if I can update to 6.0? The phone is unlocked and NOT with Vodafone. I've tried the phone's 'online update' feature but it keeps coming back with 'network error' message.
Thanks for your comments.
Tommy, 05 Nov 2016I've had this phone for over a year now, and I love it for it's big screen and great look. It ... moreIt looks nothing like an iPhone
Anonymous, 15 Oct 2016How do I get call waiting on this phonePressing pause in the call it will doping what tou want...
I loved this phone, sadly I dropped it a few months after buying. I still used it for a year with the whole screen cracked that's how great the phone was wish I could have it back.
zaxxonakias1945, 09 Sep 2016I am very happy with the battery. When i charge the phone the battery stands from 15 to 22 days.Yes the battery is great, lasts ages, the weak points are think are the camera and no Gorilla Glass, good phone though.
I bought this phone in February 2016, and being a teenager, I used it a lot. It was my main source of contact. I use it for Snapchat, Instagram, Kik, Twitter, everything. I fell in love with it at first sight because of its massive screen (size of an iPhone 6s+ and not far off the iPhone 7!) I remember asking for the price and it was £120! It was like heaven on earth! Sadly, within the first week I was having problems! Of course, being a teenager, I text - A LOT. I had an unlimited texts, 150 minutes worth of calls and 500mb of data, I managed to use the unlimited texts up (um, excuse me? UNLIMITED??) I paid for unlimited and got 1000? I've been to Vodafone several times in many places and never once have they sorted it out: "bar in your number" "We'll sort it, wait 24 hours". What a load of rubbish. Never worked. So apart from terrible service and bundles, I had problems with the speed of the device.. "Snapdragon".. More like SNAPTURTLE. If you want quick access to an app or want to answer a text quickly - THIS IS NOT THE PHONE FOR YOU. It takes me several attempts of restarting my phone and going in and out of apps before I can actually physically reply to somebody. Not to mention: app crashings; phone taking control of itself. I bought the phone in February and already wanted a new one in August. I hate it so much! Don't get me wrong, the size and price is exquisite, so is the camera - I love the camera! Amazing flash, so many lovely comments on my photos on how my quality is good! But if I go into Snapchat for example: it crashes! If I go into instagram: It backs in and out of things like someone else is controlling my phone! I can't deal with it! The death of my phone happened on 11/15/16.. NOT LONG AFTER I BOUGHT IT?! I was going to type my password in and it wouldn't let me press any keys! So great - locked out of my phone! Before people try and tell me to reset it or take it to Vodafone - I have reset it.. It worked well for about an hour..... and I can't take it to Vodafone - it doesn't even switch on anymore, I don't have enough money to get it properly repaired, plus, I don't even want it to be repaired.. Terrible piece of work. Never going with Vodafone again with any of their phones, will be going unlocked. Pile of trash. Do not recommend at all.
I've had this phone for over a year now, and I love it for it's big screen and great look. It looks just like an iPhone and many people have asked me is this an iPhone! Decent camera, but after a while it gets super slow and laggy if the memory is too full, and it doesn't have much memory. A good phone, but won't last more than 2 years
