This was yet another big week in the world of tech. We got a number of exciting phone announcements and some interesting leaks along the way. So let's take a look back as we move into the new week.
The biggest story by far was the announcement of OnePlus' two new phones. The OnePlus 7 Pro is the first OnePlus flagship that openly tries to battle it out with the big flagships on merit rather then on price.
But the company hasn't given up on its usual practives and also brought the the OnePlus 7 - a superb overall package for a great price.
Asus also might want a word when it comes to the reasonably-priced flagship category. The Zenfone 6 packs a Snapdragon 855, a bezel-less 6.4-inch LCD screen, 48MP camera and a 13MP ultrawide mounted on an innovative flip-out mechanism and a starting price of just €500.
And while we're on the subject, Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi will also launch a "flagship killer". The Redmi K20 murdered with its Snapdragon 855. Rumors are circulating that the K20 might moonlight as the Pocophone F2.
Samsung has reportedly solved the two glaring issues with the Galaxy Fold and are expected to announce a new release date soon. Those issues were the possibility of debris or dust getting under the display and causing damage and a thin layer on top of the display that users were tempted to peel off, damaging the display.
Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled the One Vision with an extra-tall 21:9 display with a punch hole camera, a 48MP main camera and a Samsung-designed Exynos 9609 chipset.
Sony's Xperia 2 appeared in renders, while the Xperia 1 went on pre-order bundled with the Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless noise-cancelling headphones. Pre-orders are expected to finally begin in June.
Next week will see the unveiling of the Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 (we'll be there) and it looks like we're about to witness the world's first f/1.4 camera on a phone. The brighter lens will be on top of the popular Sony IMX586-equipped 48MP sensor.
Capping off the most interesting stories of the week is a benchmark listing, which hints at a Galaxy Note 10 with a punch hole camera inside the display. It's a logical move, given that all three Galaxy S10 models moved to that design earlier this year.
See you in a week!
