The prevailing opinion is that the 5G connectivity is largely wasted as the regions where the Poco will be popular simply do not have next-gen networks yet. For example, folks in India may have to wait until 2022 to get 5G coverage from the local carriers.
Of course, with this model Poco will try to break into new markets, e.g. Europe, where the 5G will make a difference. Still, it sounds like most people would have been happier to get 4G and a price cut instead.
Speaking of what people wanted, many in the comments say that basing the F2 Pro on the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom would have been better as that bumps the 5MP 2x telephoto camera to 8MP 3x and adds OIS (here’s how these two compare).
Indeed, the better zoom camera would have been a nice perk, but it would have caused Poco to miss the $500/€500 price target, which was already substantially higher than the €330 that the original Poco cost back in the day.
Of course, Poco pulled off a miracle back then, getting the Snapdragon 845 so cheaply. Today there are no miracles to be had and the 865 is notoriously pricey, but without it we would be looking at an 855 chip (at which point you might as well get a 2019 phone) or a 765G (but that wouldn’t be much of an upgrade over the Poco X2).
The Poco F2 Pro was released earlier this week, though for now at least you have to deal with AliExpress and GearBest, which can be a source of headaches. So you may want to wait and keep an eye on our pricing page for new developments.
yes i too agree that not all have 5G ,but its future of network ,may be, it can become an usual think in 2021 and yes not are gonna use there device for just nearly 1 year, we might not take the advantage now, but not "forever"..... .....Think of...
No 90hz or 120hz mode means its a fail for me. Vivo neo 3 5G is a much better value for money phone. Even realme x2 pro from last year is much better than this overpriced phone. Xiaomi is not what it used to be.
This is no POCO 1 version 2. I hate notches, some dont care. I love macro photography, some dont care. I dont need an extra SD slot, some do. I cannot afford a new phone each year, this phone will last me some years. Never seen a phone with...
